Modern TMDs for Inspiration

This is what I am aiming to build. A late '70s to early '80s Motive Power Depot or Traction Maintenance Depot (TMD).

They don't need too much space and although you lose out on watching trains go whizzing around in circles, the compact end to end format means you can really go to town with the scenery and developing your modelling skills, particularly if its the engines themselves that's your thing!

The second layout featured in this excellent layout shows just what can be achieved on a baseboard that's just 4 foot by 18inches! 

By own layout will hopefully combine a small track maintenance depot and will be based on the west coast of Scotland. That's the plan anyway!!
