Yes, brucellosis is a zoonotic disease. It spreads from the live stock. Due to heavy floods, everything is affected in that country and so hygiene of the live stock also. In our India, live stock hygiene is also a matter of concern. There may be cases of Brucellosis in India but we don't have a reliable data. Actually India should set up institutes like NIH, CDC as in USA. Contry wide survey of diseases of public hygiene is utmost necessary. Indian journos should also be well trained journos in public hygiene, epidemiology and medical science. Special journo posts for such people are necessary. Truly speaking, highest body of Indian journalists should consider this point. Brucellosis is not a viral disease. It is caused by a group of bacteria belonging to the genus, brucella., buffaloes, goat, sheeps, deers, ox, other cattles, dogs etc. are some of agents from which, bacteria enters in the human body. Standard antibiotic treatments are available for brucellosis.
