İngiltere hükümeti, Covid-19 virüsünün neden olduğu ölüm riskini azaltmak için halka daha az gıda tüketmeleri çağrısı yaptı. Sağlık Bakan Yardımcısı Helen Whately, vücut kitle endeksi 40' ın üzerinde olan kişilerin Covid 19' dan hayatını kaybetme risklerinin iki kat daha fazla olduğunu belirtti. Öte yandan bilim insanları da, obezitenin korona virüsten ölüm riskini yüzde doksan artırdığını belirttiler.
