Roger Federer and Serena Williams React to Wimbledon 2020 Getting Canceled - EssentiallySports

It is already expected that Wimbledon would be canceled because of some news already spreading, but it is more saddening to hear the cancelation right from the organizers. 

 

Wimbledon Championships has never canceled the event ever since World War 2, and it's reasonable this year because of the corona virus pandemic. Even suspension of the game is unlikely because grass courts used to be wet at the latter part of the year. 

 

Roger Federer was saddened about the news considering it will be part of his comeback. He had won the Grand Slam tournament for eight times. Last year, he was defeated by Novak Djokovic. 

 

Serena Williams was also saddened considering she's been playing in the tournament for a long time. Last year's Grand Slam winner, Simona Halep expressed what she felt about the cancelation of Wimbledon too.
