Astronomers find the Wolfe Disk, a galaxy that shouldn't exist, in the distant universe - CNN
Galaxy DLA0817g, named Wolfe Disk, is the most distant rotating disk galaxy that has ever been observed. Astronomers so far believed that such distant galaxies couldn't be formed having stable and well formed disks so early in the Universe's timeline and that stability and well formation would gradually happen at later stages (distant objects is Space means looking in the past). However when the Wolfe disk galaxy was first discovered and by studying, it has revealed that the formation and preservation of their well formed shapes early after the Big Bang is probably not as rare as it has been believed until now.
