My Bread Pudding
Today, I would like to show you what I made from the scrap bread you don’t want to eat coz it’s the end parts of the loaf bread. But really, you don't have to throw it away. Don’t waste anything unless it’s not spoiled. A lot of people in this world are hungry, so please, if you can make something of what is not spoiled, please do. Here is what I did. This is called, ‘Bread Pudding’.
Ingredients:
- 6 slices of bread
- 3 eggs
- 1 can evaporated milk (11.5 fl oz or 339 ml)
- 1 can of half and half cream (9.4 fl oz or 297 ml)
- 2 cups sugar (you can add more or less, depends on your taste)
- 1 tsp of vanilla flavoring (optional)
- shredded cheese or feta cheese
Directions:
1. In a deep bowl, mix eggs with sugar, then add half and half, slowly add milk, flavoring, mix until all is smooth.
2. Place mixture in a pyrex or oven proof dish.
3. Fill dish and leave 2 inches from the top coz it will rise up.
4. Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded cheese, Cover with foil.
5. Steam it. It takes 35 to 45 minutes, or until tooth pick inserted to test is clean, it means it’s cooked.
6. Let dish cool in wire rack for 15 minutes, then it’s ready to eat. You also can also refrigerate if you want to eat it cold. Bon Appéti!
Nice job, looks delicious!
That's a great reason not to throw the ends of bread loaves, right? But I haven't tried this with cheese on top, that's new. Will give it a go the next time.
