Despite the fact that the sky is blue, when clouds are seen in the sky, we wonder what hue they are. Why do clouds appear to be white? In other words, the issue of why the cloud is black and white occurs in our brains.

Why the clouds always appear white? What causes the clouds to turn black in color?

Only when light is reflected in our eyes can we perceive an item. We see an item as black if it does not reflect light after it has been lit. Clouds are the same way. When light falls on the clouds and is reflected back to our eyes, the clouds seem white.

When light falls on a cloud and is not reflected back to us, we view the cloud as black or gray. Clouds are made up of a large number of water particles. Water droplets are extremely tiny particles of water that are invisible to the human eye. However, if a large number of particles are gathered together, the result is seen as a cloud.

Because the temperatures in the upper atmosphere are significantly colder than on Earth, some of the water droplets freeze. In these freezing water droplets, sunlight is reflected and reflected. This leads us to believe the clouds are white.

These water droplets grow extremely heavy during rainstorms, and they no longer remain in the shape of clouds, but instead descend as rain. The density of the water droplets eventually rises to the point that even sunlight is blocked. In general, reflection or refraction does not occur. As a result, the clouds appear to be black or gray to us.
