Planting.
A warm welcome to you all to my blog. I am really glad I could share insights about the agricultural lifestyle of my locality with you all; agriculture is a means through which crops are grown from the continuous life existence of both plants and animals.
Are you a farmer?
---
This is a question that comes to me as a surprise. I am a proud farmer, and I cultivate crops like cassava, yam, okara, cucumbers, potatoes, and pumpkin leaves. Being a farmer is not bad, but not knowing what a farmer is meant to do becomes worse.
Does your family and area have different types of plants or cultivable land?
---
My family is a kind of people who like farming, and we have different types of land as well as cultivable land, which are about 5 cultivable lands, but as regards the area where I live, we have about 75 land, which is yet to be farmed. The different crops that are cultivated in my place are cucumbers, yams, cassava, corn 🌽, beans, vegetables like okara, water leaf, pumpkin leaf, cabbage, etc.

They also produce cocoa, plantain, potatoes, etc. When talking about agriculture in Nigeria Cross River is the first state to be mentioned because of its love for nature and agriculture, back in the day other states bought crops for the state and took it to their State and this still happens today this should tell you that cross river as a state is rich and can be a nation on its own the youths of the states engage in agriculture which allows you to have farmland from age 17.
What type of crop is grown the most in your area and what is its planting method?
---
Cross River grows a lot of, and in Cross River, and am, in particular, is the most cultivated crop because of the high value and profit it brings to the farmers. The people in my area have invested a lot in cocoa even young boys and girls produce cocoa. A judge bag of coca is approximately 1.2 million nairas. Cross River stands as the second cocoa-producing state in Nigeria.
With the price of the crop stated you can see why it is cultivated. The planting method starts with the seeds by putting them inside the soil and making sure it has the required amount of soil nutrients and water for proper growth. After that, the seedlings are nurtured for 4 - to five years before they can produce crops for consumption.
How good do you think the soil fertility is in your area?
---
When it comes to soil fertility, cross rivers have it because the soil is completely fertile and usually accepts all kinds of crops the only factors that may hinder the production of the Crop can be climate change and other biotic factors. The soil is fertile because I can remember planting a bean crop in a plantain plantation, and it grew; the reason for the planting was practical in school, which required everyone to come with 4- 5 day old bean plants.
Finally, please share with us what types of vegetables and crops are grown in your area during winter.
---
The types of crops that are grown during winter are cassava, water leaf, pepper, onion, and garlic. These crops are cultivated during this time because the harvesting season has gone, so we have to start late planting in order not to lack these crops throughout the month. The listed crops grow and mature within 4-5 months, except cassava, which is an annual crop.
I would like to call on @aspiya, @bonaventure24, @josepha, @impersonal, @saintpaul17, @entity01, and @pandora2010 to participate in this contest.
