Week#5 my garden & crops
Hello friends of the nature and farming community, hope you are well and taking care of your garden and crops regularly. I am going to enter my garden today and dedicate my knowledge of harvesting methods for week 5. I am a smallholder farmer, we produce crops commercially. We grow a variety of crops on land. Today I will tell about groundnut cultivation from my farm. Groundnut is a very nutritious food that contains protein, healthy fats, fiber and many other nutrients. These nuts are used in various cuisines. Oil is produced from nuts. Almond curd is used to make a variety of foods including snack biscuits, peanut bars. This crop has a huge demand in our country and is exported to meet the country's demand.

Almond is a dicotyledonous plant. Almonds are grown twice a year for commercial purposes which are sown in February and twice for seeds which are sown in August. Sandy-loam soils are well suited for almond cultivation. Groundnut cultivation requires good tillage and chemical fertilizers before the last tillage before sowing. After cultivation, almond seeds should be sown. Sowing rules for almonds are 5-6" inches from one seed to another and plow in such a way that the soil of the next plow covers the previously planted seeds. Almonds germinate within 3-7 days of sowing.
What measures are taken to diagnose and prevent various diseases? |

Almond diseases are very rare. Diagnosis and irrigation of almonds depends on the weather. Weeds should be cleared by first weeding within 12-15 days after sprouting of almonds. The second pruning should be done within 35 days so that the roots of the tree are not cut during subsequent pruning. Irrigation should be done depending on the weather conditions.
Almond disease is a blackening of plant leaves known as leaf blight that requires insecticide spraying. Another almond disease is root rot, which causes some nuts to remain underground when the nuts are harvested. Carbendazims and fungicide sprays are required to prevent this disease.

Groundnut is one of our major crops and undoubtedly contributes to our economy. Millions of rupees worth of nuts are bought and sold in our local market every day.
Many of us know that almonds can only be roasted and eaten, but almonds produce oil and can be used to prepare various foods. All healthy foods are made from nuts.
Why would a person be encouraged to have a garden around the house and why should we have small gardens? |

We need oxygen to survive which comes from plants. There is no substitute for trees for our healthy environment. Trees filter the air and give us clean air. Trees keep the environment around us cool by regulating temperature. Planting trees and regular maintenance of that garden is essential for our healthy life. Gardening is essential to pass our free time and improve our mood.
