Plants that drive away mosquitoes

When the rainy season says present, insects do not wait and the vast majority of these species are mosquitoes. This happens because, as the rainfall is more constant, the vegetation begins its natural process of attracting them and at the same time, the environment is ideal for them to reproduce more easily.
Both heat and humidity are the perfect place for mosquitoes to spread. In the same way, there are diseases that are naturally in the mosquito organism and when they make the bite, in people they generate health discomfort although in some cases, these diseases are serious.
It should be noted that, a mosquito bite only does not generate irritation and discomfort since, this is the main route in the transmission of diseases such as chikungunya and dengue. Now, just as nature can attack us, there are also tools that it provides us with the purpose of providing us with protection and at the same time, guaranteeing our well-being.
Among the natural species with the greatest effect and popularity that we can use when it comes to warding off mosquitoes are:
Pennyroyal
Pennyroyal is one of the best known aromatic plants in the world and thanks to its properties, it works as an excellent natural shield to neutralize mosquitoes. From this species we can extract the natural oil it has and when applied to our skin, it acts as if it were a menthol.
If we do not have access to the oil, we can boil 1 liter of water, add 2 tablespoons of pennyroyal and proceed to boil for 15 minutes. Then remove it from the heat and let the water sit for 10 minutes to finally strain the water and incorporate our liquid in a container containing a spray dispenser. This liquid can be sprayed on our skin for 3 times a day.
Lemon balm
Mosquitoes do not tolerate the aroma emanating from this species, so when they detect it they are immediately driven away. This silver can be placed in the windows or doors of the house and if we want to be more forewarned, we can have some twigs in strategic points of the internal part of the house.
Rosemary
Generally we usually use rosemary for culinary matters, however, it can also be useful in other areas and among them stands out that it is an excellent ally to help us scare away mosquitoes that are intruders in our house.
This plant is so practical that, easily we can have it inside the house and just as it helps us to ward off mosquitoes, it also works as a decoration for that reason, there is no reason to worry in case of taking away aesthetics from the home.
Basil
The most effective strategy of ensuring that mosquitoes are not going to become intruders is by placing a pot with basil anywhere in the house. This plant is so powerful that, just by having one, we can be calm since, these insects will not approach because they do not tolerate its smell and if there is an opportunity to hit it, they will be trapped in the plant and over the course of the hours, they will die.
Lavender
During the rainy season, this natural plant is perfect to scare away mosquitoes because its leaves are a repellent for this type of insects and begins to act effectively at the time of starting the rainy season.
It is advisable to place lavender leaves in enclosed spaces. In the same way, you can have a pot at the entrance of our house to avoid that when we have the door open, some will sneak in.
