On the mountain with Jesus: The temptations and our destiny.

Before sending disciples into the world on a missionary mission, Jesus led them up the mountain. Before gaining strength and glory on the day of Pentecost, they had to survive the night of communication with the Savior, meet Him on the mountain of Galilee, the parting scene on the Mount of Olives, and they also had to receive a promise from the mouth of the Angels and spend days in prayer and fellowship in the upper room.

When Jesus was preparing for a great test or important work, he retired to a secluded place in the mountains and spent the night in prayer to the Father. The night spent in prayer preceded the consecration of the Apostles, the Sermon on the Mount, the transfiguration, the agony of judgment and the cross, and the glory of the resurrection.

We too must find time for reflection and prayer in order to receive spiritual reinforcement. We don't value the power and effect of prayer as it should.

Prayer and faith do things that no earthly force can do. Very rarely do we find ourselves in exactly the same conditions twice. We constantly go through new places and face new challenges, in which we cannot find sufficient guidance in past experiences. Therefore, we must constantly receive light from God.

Christ always sends the message to those who hear his voice, although there are people who need Divine guidance more often they do not receive it, because they have no communication with heaven.

So we must be sure that the temptations to which we are exposed every day make prayer necessary. At every step, we are in danger.

Those who try to save others from vices and perdition are especially prone to temptations. They come into constant contact with sin and need the strong support of God to not get corrupted. The steps that lead a person down from a high and sacred place to a lower level are very fast and crucial.

In a minute, a person can choose what will decide his destiny forever.

Every lost battle leaves the soul unprotected.

A sinful habit, not meeting resistance, turns into steel chains that bind the whole person.

Sort:

Prayer should be something we do everyday. It should be part of our spiritual disciplines like Bible reading and attending church when possible.

Some of what you wrote doesn't make sense. Like, "Every lost battle leaves the soul unprotected." If Jesus is my Lord and Savior then my soul is never unprotected.
