FOCAL SCRIPTURE

MATTHEW 5:8

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Vs. 8

From the book of Matthew 5:8, we understand that the one who is pure in heart is blessed.

Most times, we engage ourselves in impure thoughts or we feed our eyes with lust inducing items during the day which stays in our subconscious mind which later we ponder over them and find ourselves practicing such ungodly acts. At the end if we fall, we blame our fall on the devil. The devil usually gets all the blame when things go wrongs.

Besides being blessed, the pure in heart are assured of seeing God. And I ask myself of what use is the Christian race if at the end of the journey you are denied the priviledge of seeing God?

Why it is essential for our heart to be pure is that the state of our heart determines the output of our heart.

Most times, we refuse to take things that are important in keeping our heart pure, we lose focus of those things and insight and focus on things that are not worth our focus.

PROVERBS 4:23

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Vs. 23

Most of the things that affect our life and destiny emanate from our heart.

MATTHEW 15:19

For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. Vs. 19

This scripture says that evil thought that defile a man proceed from the heart. If your heart is occupied with impure thoughts, given a little time, we will see ourselves practicing such.

As Children of God for us to be blessed and be able to see God, we need to guard our heart from negative and impure things and we can only do that when;

We study and meditate on God’s word
When we hunger and thirst for righteousness
When we depend on the Holy Spirit
When we allow ourselves to be under His tutorship
When we let God use us whenever He wishes and how it pleases Him to do.

It all starts with a thought. A polluted heart cannot produce godly character. As long as the heart is polluted, the deeds will be evil and it makes us end up losing our God-given destiny.

If our thoughts are pure, it will propel us to live a holy life which will make us fulfill our destiny and we will end up seeing God and living with Hi, eternally.

Being pure at heart isn’t what we see as morals, it isn’t about what you do or your actions, it is by obeying God’s word which has it foundation in the scripture.

When our heart is pure, we will not only see God in heaven, we will also see God manifest our desires here on earth and the only way to do that is to guard our heart with the word of God.

We need to ask for God’s help because scripture says that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us. So ask for God’s help to live a life of purity.
