ALONG THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN

You have certainly read the introduction above so I will not go into further explanations. Let's start!

Who am I? The name is easy, I come from Italy and my story with steem started almost 2 years ago. How? One day like any other I was doing random searches to find something out about the blockchain. Which blockchain? None in particular. Imagine not knowing what blockchain was and typing the term on google: here, I started from there.

Among the names of the most famous blockchains, this steem also emerged, although I must admit that I did not immediately drop the anchor. On the contrary, it was initially a name like any other, one of many blockchains. I knew it worked slightly differently than many others and that it was mainly used in a social media environment. Some time has passed since that time and the term steem came out again, a second, a third time. At that time I took some photos here and there during my short journeys, photos of daily life, of the places I frequented, usually always close to my city. At some point, when I saw steem appear again in my researches, I decided to immerse myself in more in-depth research.

Steem was a blockchain that issued tokens, STEEM tokens. STEEM had a market value and was listed on some exchange platforms. The steemit platform already offered through blocktrades a possibility of conversion between steem and other cryptocurrencies. And steemit, based on the blockchain steem, was a meeting place for numerous artists, bloggers, content creators: in short, I asked myself if it could be worth starting an adventure here. You can easily imagine the answer by reading this post.

What was steem like in the beginning? When steem started, I was obviously not there and I wouldn't be able to tell you. But I can tell you how my start on steemit was. After creating an account and receiving confirmation of creation, I went in and looked around. In the early days, I published little or nothing, I tried to understand how it worked and I still did not know how constant the evolution of this system was. Projects that followed and continue today, some lasted over the months, others over the years, others with a short deadline. When I pressed the icon at the top right, the one that refers to the link for creating a new post, I wasn't sure what to expect.
Then I saw it.

The interface was quite simple. Space for the title, space for text, the icon for images. I knew the rewards once I learned the basic blockchain mechanism. One of the things that I have learned only with the passage of time is the functioning of the tags: in fact, communities based on them have been introduced, the so-called tribes. Each tribe has its own tag and by setting it during the publication procedure you can publish your post on the specific platforms of that tribe. Many of these communities were born, each with its own specific token and each token can be exchanged thanks to an exchange platform, thanks to another platform, steem-engine. But here we have a whole other, much more advanced, discourse for which it took years. Because the early days were much more difficult, it was difficult to understand even the meaning of the term markdown, let alone use it. Formatting has been a problem for a long time, also because I didn't have a very high publishing frequency. Over the months I have learned many of these steemit techniques and mechanisms. I got to know promotion projects and I started publishing more frequently. But I remember the first periods in which this climb began when I ran out of credits to publish because I had burned them. it is one of the first things to learn on steem and that will probably learn who wants to participate a lot already from the beginning without having the necessary credits to do it.

Despite all these small difficulties, I slowly began to familiarize myself with the ecosystem. I focused on one particular genre, that of images. As I said, I often take photos around me about my daily life, sometimes trying to make subjects more artistic and creative by creating more elaborate images; I participated in several contests here on the platform, sometimes finishing in good positions. I recently took office as one of the curators of photostreem, the platform dedicated to photography here on steem.

Another kind of content in which I combine something more with photography is what concerns my short trips. Usually I do them on the bike, stop, take some photos and insert them in a post, briefly telling my experience. I don't like kilometric items, the only really long ones were for the number of images inserted.

A final role of mine is also that of participating in a small curation project of the steemgeeks tribe, thanks to the @ stem.curate account. Lately, he has had some problems, but I hope he can recover.

In addition to these, there are numerous communities in which I make a very small contribution but in which I am interested. Tribes such as talentclub, palnet, dblog, creativecoin, groups focused around travel such as travelfeed or the curation of original content such as ocd and curie. And then how not to mention Power House Creatives, a group of people who are active on steems every day and who like me range in all areas: blogging and vlogging, photography, travel, writing, contests, initiatives of various kinds.

For now, steemit has been a good experience, we look forward to what will come, especially after the last controversial and still not definitive news regarding the management of this platform.
