How Free Platforms Make Money?

At the Beginning of WhatsApp, they used to ask their users 1$ yearly without any ads, and first-year was free. But in 2014 Facebook brought WhatsApp in 19 billion dollars. Now WhatsApp has a huge database. People who don't use Facebook also use WhatsApp.

So here comes Data, it was claimed that Facebook ads. It was blamed that Facebook is understanding WhatsApp user's behavior, like whatever they chat, and use these data to improve their ads.

But letter this blames was demolished, Facebook also did some changes in their privacy policies, their open up about the security they provide in WhatsApp. So does that mean, WhatsApp works for free? Well actually no.

WhatsApp has a huge user base, so now they provide business Applications. They provide a premium service for their business users, like automatic reply, insights, and many more. And for this, they charge some amount.

Also, WhatsApp provides facilities to transfer money to your contact list, but it does not provide the facility for refund. They can also charge you some money in transactions. So this way they make money.
