Steemit Engagement Challenge (week 2) ||Cafe Terrace at night: The Fall of The Mighty by @tmighty.

Hi lovelies.
I feel great to be write in this community for the very first time. It is the second week of the Steemit Engagement Challenge. It is with delight that I join the creative writers of this community to write as I compete for the best from this community.

In order to tell my story, I shall be using the third image described with Cafe Terrace at night

The title of my story is The Fall of The Mighty. Let ride with me as I tell my story using the display picture.

THE FALL OF THE MIGHTY

Harry, the fifth Child of his father had a major breakthrough while still in school as got involved in cryptocurrency trading. At the beginning, he kept it a secret because he didn't want his father to start asking questions he wouldn't be able to provide the answers. In his final year, he stopped requesting money from home. His dad like he did for his children that graduated before Harry had placed him on a monthly stipend of $20 which he sends at the beginning of every month. This was not usually enough for Harry but he managed it until he made that breakthrough. At this time his Dad felt relieved because his son could now fend on his own even though he never asked what he did.

Harry made daily financial progress as life continued for him. Upon graduation, he was able to get his own apartment and furnished it to look good for his level of wealth. He moved in almost immediately after he had furnished the apartment when he informed the house in general. Harry moved to his new apartment in a different town and stayed all by himself. He was so comfortable that money was not his problem anymore. In no distant time, he got a brand new car for himself. Life had become so easy for him in a short while, money almost ran errands for him.

Harry supported his Dad and Mom with money monthly. Before long, he bought two brand new phones for his Dad and Mom. Not long after, he bought a car for his Dad as the one he used before had gone bad. He was ever supportive in the family affairs. Harry was that good but he forgot about his siblings who grew up with him and had struggled to gain financial freedom. He never really cared how they faired. Harry never behaved friendly to his siblings anymore. His siblings were mad at him but could not really react to whatever he did.

Harry cared about only his business associates. He could spend any amount of. Money to take care of the needs of his business associates and girlfriends but never really bothered about his blood brothers and sisters.
His siblings complained to their parents how their brother had neglected they his siblings. His parent called him to order severally but after some time, he changed. At a point, he stopped sending money to his parents also. Even when he saw that they were in dying needs, he neglected them. Just three years into the world of wealth, Harry had changed from the friendly, caring and fun to be person he was. He stopped associating with his family and kept friends more closely. Most of his friends were close to him because of his wealth and the way to wealth that he could show them. This was a legit source of income but he never cared to share it with his siblings but his friends.

As a result of what had been happening, Harry's siblings, most especially his brothers had to looked away as they all looked for their source of income. Many of them struggled to make ends meet but they never bothered to ask him of nothing.

Five years down in the line of wealth , Harry found a girl he was comfortable to marry. She loved him just for the sake of his wealth but he never knew They dated for a year and decided to go the altar. Harry informed his friends but never bothered to tell his family members. He had told his fiancee that he is an orphan and that his extended family didn't care he existed. The news of Harry's upcoming wedding got to his family when he uploaded pre-wedding pictures. This is the height of disrespect for family but everyone bowed their heads and did as if they didn't see anything.

In the midst of all of these happenings, Harry's friends became envious of him because he was wealthier than them all. So they came up with a plan to bring him down and to get away with all his wealth on his wedding day. They had a meeting to the effect and finalized their plans 3 weeks to his wedding.

As the date of the wedding was fast approaching Harry and his wife to be planned their wedding even without his family. They had plans for the best wedding that has ever taken place on earth. Everything went smoothly as if the future looked great for them.
In the preparation for the wedding, he needed no population for the church wedding, so he had told the pastor to come over to a secluded place where their will be a witness of few persons. The pastor who he had bought over with money obliged to what he wanted. They have also planned a big reception where only his friends and family of his fiancee would attend. Of course for his caliber of person, he had innumerable friends and for the fact that he had been good to them, he expected that they will all show up.

Few days to the wedding some of his friends who stayed afar called that they wouldn't be able to attend for one or two reasons while others who promised to come never reached out even when they new they won't come. He had hope that others would show up.

When the wedding day came, everything was set as the organizers of the wedding and wedding reception did a great job.
The couple to be got to the venue and saw that all his friends were already there. He was happy to see each and everyone of them. They didn't waste much time as the parent of the lady and some church pastors and workers had been waiting for long. It didn't take long before the pastor joined them.

Before wedding ended, all his friends had gone based on their plans. When he didn't see them, he believed they had moved to the reception venue.

With much hope that his friends were going to turn up for the reception, he did not bother to call them. They got to the wedding reception and waited for these elite friends but none showed up. Everyone including the girls parents were confused what could have happened but no one had idea. After much time of patience, the church pastors and workers who came for the reception left because the following they was Sunday and they needed to prepare. Music was played but only the couple, the girls parent, Harry's workers and the chefs were left in the reception venue as attendees.

It was already 1:30PM, at this point Harry became worried, so after much waiting, he decided to reach out to some his friends. Had he picked up his phone to reach them, he saw a message in his mail and when he checked, all his life savings were gone.
Upon seeing that, he made a loud shout and fell to the ground

He was rushed to the hospital and when he regained consciousness, only his gate man was by his side. He asked about his wife and the gate man told she had left. He was bankrupted by his so called friends and the lady that claimed to love him also left him on the hospital bed.

He was devastated and depressed as he was left with just $50 he kept in one of his drawers his place of residence. Since he didn't build any house with his money but rented, he left and stayed in incomplete buildings around the area. He was ashamed to go back home, so he lived in poverty, wandering in streets from place to place all the days of his life.

Lessons from the Story

• Never forget your root when you attain the pinnacle of financial success.
• Family is everything, never place friends above family. They can destroy you faster than you can ever imagine.
