Steemit Engagement Challenge Season5 week5: The interview where the protagonist is me
Hello Steem friends,
It's week 5 of Steemit engagement challenge. I know some person's thought that the season 5 has ended only to walk up this morning to see an update from steemitblog.
Well, am so glad it has not ended. This is another week of opportunity to engage with other steemians and their publications. This week's task is titled"An interview where the protagonist is me". Would you like to here my answers from the interview I had? Then seat back and read.
Before I answer I want to say thank you so much for having me here in your interview channel @colombiaoriginal I am pleased.
My steemit story is such a funny one and guess what? Telling my story of how I got to steemit is something I can not get tired of saying.
I got to steemit in year 2021 in the month of February through a friend by name @ceendy20 during a church conference.
I live in Lagos Nigeria and every end of year towards the month of December, I normally travel to imo state Nigeria for my church national conference which we call cross over service. December 2020 I travelled for that conference, there I met this beautiful steemian sharing the good news of Steemit to everyone who cared to pay attention. Even though she didn't share the good news of Steemit to me, I kept close attention to what she was talking about and then I made up my mind to go and ask her what she kept talking to some people about.
The last day of the meeting was in January 2021. I summoned courage and went to her to please explain to me what she meant by steemit. She smiled at me and proceeded to share the good news of Steemit to me. She told me how good the platform is to her and how it works. Her stories sounded so good to be true, so I told her I would sleep over all she said. I travelled back to the city of Lagos Nigeria after the conference.
Finally in February 2021, I called her and told her I was ready to join the platform, she was happy I made the right choice. She guilded me through my registration process and through my introduction post.
My motivation for staying was first because I met new friends and family who encouraged me daily and also challenged me positively. Some of which I would mention are @lhorgic @ngoenyi @fredquantum and a whole lots of others. I looked up to them for directions when I am confused or in need of help. I even went beyond steemit to chatting some of them of other social media platform like WhatsApp.
Another motivation for my staying was because I found value writing as a content writer. This value could be seen financially, intellectually and physically. I saw steemit as a job for me so I gave myself to it. It improved my mind capacity and my idealogy, expanding my scope of reasoning and learning.
Wow! This is a very long question but I will try to answer them all. Sailing in the steemit ocean has not been easy I must tell you, especially when you don't know how swim well.
You know in an ocean, once in a while there must be heavy weaves and tides right? So if you are not good enough you might drawn(get frustrated, depressed, discouraged and leave steemit). But with persistent, hardwork, consistency, hope and quality content, I have been sailing well.
I am not a dolphin yet but I am close to been a dolphin as my steempower as at when am writing this is at 4266 as seen in the screenshot below. And in no time I would become a dolphin.
I am working to becoming a dolphin as I have given my self a particular time duration when I want to achieve my dolphin status through Powerups every week, this means that I have set out a particular steem I must powerup weekly to get my goal achieved but to do this I must work hard every day making quality content so that I can be supported with votes in other to get my required steem to powerup. I really can not wait to celebrate been a dolphin on this platform, I want to know what it feels like been a dolphin.
Yes I think so. Been a dolphin causes an increase in my steem power which in turn increase my curation rewards. We know that the more steempower, the more reward when you decide to support posts with your vote.
I also know been a dolphin comes with a benefit of been celebrated by the steemit team through voting your dolphin post with the 01 account even though votes are not guaranteed.
Like I said before, been a dolphin comes with a special feeling which I would like to experience. Meanwhile, I plan to celebrate each dolphin I achieve on steemit first by making a post on how I achieved my dolphin status.
secondly I would be so excited to the point that I may throw a mini party with my close friends around me to celebrate this achievement with a plate of fried chicken and chips because it's not easy at all.
Thirdly on that day I plan to support other users with my achievement by voting their posts on that day, I would vote not less than 10 users.
First I must say this is a very serious question.
From my opinion the word powerdown comes from two words. Power and down does it ring a bell? Power down to me simply means your power is down. You no longer have power here on steemit, no relevant, no value.
Power down is a practice where steemians decide to take out a portion or all their steem power from the wallet. When this is down it means there is a reduction in steempower or no more steem power.
Some steemians may have reasons why they choose to powerdown but I do not see power down as the best way to solve their problems. I believe there are other ways aside powering down.
Thank you for reading. I invite my friends to join this contest @lhorgic @sahmie

Thanks dear friend for your support.
I can't wait to be a dolphin
Well I would say people like you in this platform have been a great source of motivation to me and I look forward to getting to your level and even higher on this platform.
The ocean is way big enough for more dolphins, thus, I can not wait to your dolphin take to the waters.
Good luck and have a wonderful day..
Thank you so much
