The death penalty is a sensitive and controversial topic. In Indonesia, the death penalty has been in effect since 1945. Under Indonesian law, the death penalty is enforced for several types of crimes, including murder, serious maltreatment resulting in death, terrorism, crimes against state security, and large-scale drug trafficking, and corruption.

The death penalty is the most severe punishment a justice system can impose on someone who is found guilty of a particular crime. The death penalty is usually carried out by eliminating the life of the perpetrator through the methods stipulated in the laws and regulations that apply in that country.

The pros and cons of the death penalty have become a highly controversial topic of debate in recent years. Some parties support the death penalty because it is considered a form of punishment commensurate with the crimes committed by the perpetrators, while others oppose the death penalty because it is considered inhumane and has the potential to punish innocent or misguided people. In addition, the effectiveness of the death penalty in preventing crimes is also being debated by experts and human rights activists.

I agree with the imposition of the death penalty on criminals who can take the lives of other people. For example, as perpetrators of premeditated murder, terrorism that threatens the integrity of the state, and severe persecution that results in death.

Under the laws of my country, the death penalty is the most severe punishment given to criminals. It only applies to certain types of crimes, such as murder, terrorism, serious persecution resulting in death, crimes against state security, and drug trafficking in large quantities.

I think the death penalty should be applied. Because it will minimize crime, murder, and various forms of threats to the integrity of a country. Perpetrators must think 1,000 times before committing a crime for fear of the severe consequences they will have to bear.

Behind the implementation of the death penalty in force in several countries, there must be a lot of wisdom behind it. The death penalty is considered a form of justice for the victim or the family of the victim of a crime because the perpetrator is punished according to his guilt and receives the punishment he deserves.

In 2002, there was a bombing in Indonesia that left 200 people dead and hundreds of people seriously and lightly injured. For their actions, the three perpetrators (Amrozi, Ali Gufron, and Imam) were sentenced to death on October 2, 2003. They had filed for judicial review three times in 2007-2008. However, all of their submissions were rejected, and the three perpetrators were executed in Nusakambangan on November 9, 2008.

The application of the death penalty is inseparable from the scrutiny of various parties and opponents of the death penalty because it is considered inhumane, ineffective in preventing crimes, has the potential to impose sentences on innocent or misguided people, and violates human rights. However, the application of the death penalty is not instantaneous, it requires various references and accurate data in imposing sentences.
