Hello friends,

It is a wonderful opportunity to be among the participants of the week 01 season 08 steemit engagement challenge, hosted by this great community.

This contest promises to be very interesting and informative, more reason I decided to drop my entry right away.

Before I proceed to the deal of the day, permit me to extend my warm regards to the moderators and admin of this community, indeed you are all putting in the work needed to grow this community.

Without any further ado, shall we proceed to the main deal of the day.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE DEATH PENALTY, DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE? EXPLAIN WHY?

The death penalty which is officially known as judicial homicide can be explained to be a state sanctioned practice of deliberately bringing an end to the life of an individual as a punishment for a supposed or actual crime, usually following authorised process to draw a conclusion that a person is guilty for commiting the said crime that warrant such punishment.

In a literal terms, the death penalty can be explained to be a practice of putting an individual to death for commiting a specific crime.

It is true that the death penalty is an effective method of containing the prevalence of some dirty crimes.

No human wants to be killed and as such people avoid crimes that will warrant them to be killed.

Personally, I don't agree with the death penalty because I feel no one has the right to take the life of another.

Yes, you don't have the right to take the life you have not given.

Although there are some great crimes that many feel is deserving of death, crimes such as taking the life of another.

Yes, this is a great crime but I believe there should be greater punishment for it, aside a death penalty.

Such an offender can be sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labour.

IS THIS TYPE OF PENALTY PART OF THE LAW IN YOUR COUNTRY? DO YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED?

The death penalty is a law in my country, and it is quite sad that most times the youths take this law to heart and result to jungle justice.

Jungle justice refers to a situation whereby a group of individuals in a society will take the law to their hands by killing a criminal because he broke the law.

In my country, it is against the law to take law on your hands, but because of the influence of death penalty, the youth sometimes end up killing innocent individuals.

The death penalty has been implemented in my country already and I think it should be abolished.

DO YOU KNOW OF ANY PARTICULAR CASE OF DEATH PENALTY IN YOUR COUNTRY OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY? CAN YOU SHARE IT?

Unfortunately, I don't know of any particular case of death penalty in my country or any other country.

Most of the death penalty I have heard of are in the movies but I know that such a practice is applicable in the real life.

The only practice I have experienced is jungle justice, this is very common in my vicinity.

Whenever a thief is caught, the only option left is to burn the thief to death.

The last incident I witnessed was in my locality, the thief (a young boy) buggled into someone's house during the day to steal.

Unfortunately for him, after breaking in, he was caught in the act.
Then the landlord raised alarm and the boy was caught and burnt to ash.

It is not a very good practice, the people of the land took law into their hands.

CONCLUSION

Life is a very precious gift from our creator and I don't think it will be appropriate for humans to create a law that permits them to take the life of another.

I personally feel that a severe punishment can be made for severe crimes.

I appreciate the host of this contest for initiating an interesting contest such as this.

I look forward to participating in the next contest to be hosted by this great community.

I invite @simonnwigwe and @ruthjoe to this contest

Hola @jueco

Thank you for the review friend 😊

I enjoyed reading your content. The coherence, markdown application and well explicit content. We all know death penalty is one of the controlled laws in place in most countries of the world to help maintain stability in the society.
Good luck to you

Whoop whoop! You feel just like me about the death penalty.
We don't have the right to take a life. As you stated, our previous gift from our creator.
I do agree that there must be punishment but there must be boundaries and the death penalty is not one of them.
Great post!

Thank you very much for stopping by, no one has the right to take the life of another 😊
