Everyone who has made a mistake must receive appropriate punishment and reward so that person can be deterred and not make that mistake again, but there is one sentence in court which is called the Death Penalty which is still much debated about its appropriateness in various parts of the world. Here is my review for this contest regarding the death penalty.

What do you think about the death penalty, do you agree or disagree? Why?

The death penalty is the most severe punishment that must be received by convicts because of the serious crimes they have committed, and I personally agree with the death penalty. The reason I strongly agree with the death penalty is because this sentence was sentenced by a judge with very mature, firm considerations and with very complete evidence.

Every prisoner receiving the death penalty is a person who has committed extraordinary crimes such as premeditated murder and drug dealing. The reason they were sentenced to death is clear, namely because the effects arising from the crimes they committed were very severe and could spread everywhere.

And the existence of the death penalty also serves as an example for people who want to commit a crime, if they don't want to die they have to think a thousand times before they commit the crime.

Is this type of penalty part of the law in your country? Do you think it should be implemented?

Yes, the death penalty is the most severe punishment in our country, in my opinion this death penalty must be applied to maintain the norms of justice and a sense of security for all Indonesian people, because if the death penalty does not exist you can imagine how a mother's heart is broken whose children were planned to be killed and the perpetrators were not sentenced to death and you can also imagine how crime would be rampant everywhere.

This is also a good for the security of our own lives and that of our families, because if there is a death penalty criminals cannot arbitrarily commit crimes against us and our loved ones, with the death penalty in our country for murder, drug dealers and others. and so on have started to decrease in our country.

But for now the death penalty in our country is not executed immediately after being sentenced, convicts who are sentenced to death must first serve 10 years in prison, if within that period he behaves well and regrets all the crimes he has committed his sentence will be commuted be in prison for life.

Lately in Indonesia there has just been a death sentence handed down by the judge to the defendant Ferdy Sambo on February 13, 2023. The mistake was that Ferdy Sambo had been proven to have committed the premeditated murder of his adjutant at his official residence in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta on Friday 8 July 2022.

This is the most phenomenal case that has occurred in Indonesia because the defendant Ferdy Sambo is a former Kadivpropam Polri.
