1.- Do you celebrate Christmas in your country? If the answer is Yes, say how they celebrate it, if the answer is No, say what other special date they celebrate in December.

Yes, the Answer is yes!, We do celebrate Christmas. Christmas celebration is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ among the majority of the religious bodies who believe in the son of God the saviour of the the world.

It's celebrated in my country as one of the biggest if not the biggest and most recognised festivity of the year. Because of the extent of its pronouncement, promulgation and fame, it's made compulsory that people who travelled or the travellers return home that day or prior the date and the leading government declares this period public holiday. It's the festivity that get every person's mind prepared, the animals to be slaughtered that day, food to be prepared, and old and new friends to be met on that day, some even meet their husbands or wives during this festivity because everyone comes home for the celebration.

On the D day, the Christmas day, we go to churches in the morning and dismiss quite early and return home. The next thing is the commencement of food preparation, slaughtering of animals, either, cow 🐄, goat 🐐, chicken depending on the hand reach. So, after the cooking, we first share give neighbours as we receive theirs as well, this is just sign of love, tasting each other's food and at the same time distribute food to every member of the family, while the eating goes on, the sharing of meet follows and finally taking the drinks especially soft ones and juice meant for the day.

Then the next thing, towards the evening, family members sit together to discuss some important issues that concerns them as well as sharing testimonies on how God has been preserving them and thanking him for keeping everyone to witness the year Christians celebration.

Then the next day which is the 26th (the boxing Day), is the day you can go out visit friends hosting Christmas party, visit relatives you have not seen for long. Both this day and the Christmas day, children

dresses in their best outfit as far as their mummy and daddy put them through, to be able to visit people, friends and relatives who give them various Christmas gift especially money to appreciate them of their dress 👗 codes.

So it's about love in sharing in my country this very festivities even before the Christmas day 25th, you can visit people who don't have enough food to cook the D day, give to them, it's sober reflection all, about the beauty of the moment, love in sharing.

And finally, the Christmas parties here and there, some even play masquerade, moving from house to house though harmless collecting Christmas gifts from people who wants to appreciate them and majorly carried out by middle aged children.

Beloved friends that's how Christmas is being celebrated in my country.

2.- Do you perform any ritual at Christmas or on that special date? We would like to meet you.

Yes! Some rituals are being performed prior to the date, 25th December.

The ritual include night Carroll, organised by the individual denominations where the beat drums, sing various songs, moving in group from one location to another all night through. This is done as a part of evangelism, and creating awareness about the forthcoming Celebration, the Birth of Jesus Christ as well as generating fund for the upkeep of the church.

Christmas Carrol doesn't exclude anybody but majorly organised by the youths. When people hear their drum beat 🥁, they come out in mass to appreciate them by giving them some gift especially money.

Christmas Carrol is an amazing ritual, people don't wait to witness.

The second ritual likewise, is the populated churches such as Roman Catholic displays their acting of the birth of Jesus Christ, the father Joseph, mother Mary, the new born baby Jesus Christ, Bethlehem, Manja and the rest of biblical documentaries about the births of Christ.

It's often displayed and acted so real that people pull out in mass to watch. This is done towards 21-22 December. As part of evangelism and to strengthen the commitment of its members.

3.- What special food do you prepare for this celebration?

Yes! no other food than rice, am sure, no matter the strength of evolution rice is irreplaceable food for Christmas festivity in this part of the world.

And every food you are giving as a gift to people in this period other than rice is not recognised. So the special food for Christmas festivity in my country is RICE.

4.- Do you have any special memories regarding Christmas or that special date?

Yes I do especially childhood memories, where Christmas period is the time meant to open a savings boxes, counting how much we saved so far, and become exited about it. Those saved money is part of what Mumm uses to buy us Christmas clothes and shoes.
