He Wanted To Meet His Father

in Colombia-Original2 years ago
He saw his face on the black screen of the computer. He kept looking at himself by making different facial gestures. Suddenly, his father's face came up before his eyes. The last time he went home, he had an argument with his father. He is ashamed to think of all this today. Today, his father is on his deathbed. The last call on his phone was about the information and sounded as if he was tired of life.

It is raining heavily outside. It's going to be dark soon. A plane had just passed by, and a deep silence fell after the noise spread across the sky.

By now, there would have been traffic jams everywhere in the city, he thought. With a heavy heart, he opened the door to his room. As soon as he entered, he struggled against the wall to turn on all the switches, but the darkness inside him remained the same, though the room was fully lit up now. It was the rainy season. It rained a little in the afternoon.

He fell on his bed and felt as though there was no force of gravity on him and he had become weightless. In such a situation, he can also practice flying. Everything kept in his room is like the planets, satellites, and galaxies of the universe. By the way, there was nothing much in that room, but a lamp, a cupboard, a jug of water, a table, some books on the table, a notepad, a laptop, a paperweight, and yes, there were two doors in the room, one on the outside and one on the inside.

Although his salary was okay, today, on the 20th of the month, he was counting the money in his pocket. Had it not been for this emergency, he thought he would have survived comfortably. After all, life in this city is not easy. One never knows how quickly the salary is depleted by bills and loans, with the remainder of the month spent on credit cards.

Then he thought that from here, it would take him twenty hours to reach his town. There are twelve people in total in his house. When his father fell ill for the first time, no one told him anything. Then, gradually his health deteriorated, and now the doctors have finally given up. He thought that his father would die now, and he became very sad. He himself wished to be on that deathbed instead of his father. After all, what would his father be thinking at this time? His whole life was probably visible before his eyes now.

Maybe he was thinking of pain or liberation! Some research suggests that the human body experiences things for a long time, even after death. What would a man think at such a time? How would he react if his father died now? Will he burst into tears or remain unresponsive like an inanimate object? Is his father going through unbearable physical pain? What was he thinking while lying on the hospital bed? Has he forgiven him or has he become more angry? Is life all set to fall on him like a heavy burden?

And a scene of his father's corpse floated before his eyes. He cried softly, his eyes turning red. He quickly shook his head and tried to scream, but no sound came out of his mouth. He came and sat in his chair and rested his head on the table.

His mother's voice echoed in his ears, "Look, if you want to come, you should, otherwise it makes no difference." If you see it once in bad condition, it will be good. Do you know what will happen next? Time and luck make strange moves. His father was completely healthy a month ago. Now what do you know when it will happen? It is as if he has started swimming in an endless river of his thoughts. His mind wandered and he reached his village.

He was in dreams, "I remember our flower beds, and the days I visited our vegetable fields." He thought of how, during his childhood, he used to play with his father and cousins. He closed his eyes. His dad's innocent face was in front of his eyes.

Now he thought about that Instagram post, in which a boy's body was painted as if flowers were sprouting from his face. The multicolored flowers, white, pink, and dark green leaves and long vines. He was thrilled, imagining himself in place of that boy in that picture. How touching it would be if that young man in that photo was actually him! Suddenly, he came out of his thoughts. He looked at his bed with sad eyes. He felt as if his father was lying on his bed with a slight smile as he looked at him, and a vine of a flower grew from his head and spread on the pillow. He wanted to reach his hometown immediately.

Hello @dove11
Once again you make us even nostalgic for that character. I think, sadly, at the end of our lives, we will all in some way have those memories of a person who went to another plane and we couldn't be with him.
It is part of our history, I hope this could change at some point, but once things happen, the truth is that there is no turning back, very well accomplished your writing. Greetings.
