Steemit Engagement Challenge Season5 Week5 : The interview, where the protagonist is me

Hello everyone, how are you doing, I welcome you once again to the Steemit Engagement Challenge, this is more of a great opportunity since the engagement challenge has been extended by additional weeks,meaning we still get to enjoy discussion In the selected communities.

Today, I shall be joining the discussion on "The interview, where the protagonist is me.", This is quite an amazing topic, as we get to explore our activity's on the steemit platform so far , without wasting much time, let me dive into it.

1.- How did you get to Steemit, what motivated you to stay?

---

I get to know about Steemit from my friend and also my roommate in the university, he goes with the username: jamezmccoy, he is no longer active on the chain due to his reason, he's an awesome individual who have always tried to convince me to join the chain, but most of the time I was reluctant until I sign up, then started writing my achievement 1 post.

My journey towards Steemit started from the influence of the crypto Academy, it's one of my favorite community on the chain, and that is what drive me to sign up and add to my crypto knowledge.

Steemit Interface was difficult for me at first with markdowns, but with the help of my roommate , I was able to overcome most of those challenges, and I could say for a fact that his interfering helps me in those difficult moment, and also helps me to maintain being active on the chain.

There has been various initiative that made me stay on Steemit, the first is the crypto academy and the Trading competition as well, and also the fact that I love creating unique contents, and thus helps me improve in real life as well, before Steemit, I have always have issues in writing as I am much of a speaker, but ever since being on the Chain, my Writing skills has improved and I am much of a writer now rather than a speaker.

2..- How has it been sailing in the Steemit Ocean? Are you already a dolphin? If your answer is yes, tell us how you did it; If your answer is no, we would like to know how you are working to achieve it?

Sailing on Steemit has been great for me so far, I have tried to join the bigger club multiple times, but due to some certain circumstances, I feel the need to maintain the 5050, except for that challenges, my journey on the platform has been a great one.

I have also achieved some amazing records on the platform, I have had my best challenge which is being the crypto Academy superstar, and I am also moving closely to my First Dolphin as well.

I have been an active member on the platform ovear a year ago, and my major goal as well is to build my SP so as to support other users, this has been working just fine , and I am moving in my own speed .

My journey to the Dolphins league is near, as I currently have 4830 SP, I have set the target of reaching my first dolphin before the year runs out, or better still before November ends, this is one of my close target I am looking forward to achieve very soon.

3.- Do you think that being a Dolphin gives you an additional benefit?

---

Yes, Dolphin gives additional benefits on the platform such as ;

• More voting power and curation Reward
• More chance at Community curators and etc

These are the benefits of Being a dolphin, as a first dolphin you get to curate users post and earn curation reward as well, as a user with 5000sp has the chance of earning 10sp as his weekly reward, and you also use the opportunity to support your fellow users on the platform.

Being a dolphin means you have upper hand at the chance of being choosen as a community curator, there has been some occasions where there are requirements to fill before being chanced at these position, but when you are equally a dolphin on the chain, things get easier has you have already qualified for most of the position requirements on the platform.

4.- How did you celebrate or do you plan to celebrate each dolphin you achieve?

Getting to my first dolphin seems like a mile of journey for me to overcome, but my eyes are on the prize and I believe in my little movement, I might not be moving as fast as I had hoped, but I believe consistency pays the price.

Dolphin will be a huge milestone challenge for me, celebrating this, I will add a timeframe and improve my effort so I could get to the next one in a shorter frame, I believe this will be more encouraging for me, and as well motivating, and this would make me want to do more and perform better as well.

5.- What opinions do you have of Power Down?

---

Ever since my activity on the platform, I have never initiates a power down and I consider this act a terrible one as well.

The whole idea of being curated is for one to build their Steem Power and support other users as well, if this is done, everybody gets to win , as the other is building their SP, they are also getting support along the line, but there is impossiblity of this once you powered down, and this sort of went against the whole idea of curating as well.

Power down is a big frown on the platform, it shows ones selfishness, there are people who depends on the users curation, but once you take this away, you demotivate others as well, I believe it's a decision that went against the idea of the platform as a whole.

The Steemit Platform being one of the best decentralized platform has touches a lot of souls one way or the other, it has been one of the best thing to happen to me, and special thanks to the curators for there unending support on users generally.

I believe this should be what everybody should be grateful for, we could as well build our SP so as to support other users, this makes the curation goes a long way and bring more uniqueness to the platform.
