I can't speak intimately to Korean society, but death is difficult for many here in the United States because Americans tend not to view life as a fragile, invaluable phenomenon. Not many Americans live with their mortality at the forefront of their mind, as if mortality is something to be ashamed of like you mentioned.

Didn't quite grasp the middle argument about "idolizing the subjects of vulnerability," I would like to know what you meant by that.
