Just Mercy: A story of Justice and Redemption.

Just Mercy is a film that touched my soul no matter how hard I tried to hide it. It shows a huge comparison between being a "White" and a "Black". The film was adapted from Bryan Stevenson's Memoir. It explains graphically the fight for Justice the Activist Bryan Stevenson and his partner Eva Ansley of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) for Death Row Prisoners had to undergo to ensure that Walter McMillan and many others are released for a crime they were accused of committing.

The film relays to its viewers the role Poverty, Racism and Injustice has to play I determing the future of citizens in the contemporary society, as seen in the case of Walter 'Johnny D' McMillan, an African American confined to the death row shackles for a crime he didn't commit. Despite Johnny D's refusal, Stevenson went ahead to make enquiries from his family and friends, who recounted what happened and also knew he was innocent.

Initially, Stevenson's appeal was denied. Frustrated he recounts his thoughts and emotions to his partner, ingnited by his purpose, he sought for public support by appearing on "60 Minutes" a morning show, and with that courage he appealed to the Supreme Court not only for a retrial but for the case to be dismissed. Hope shone on them when their request was granted. Stevenson's fight was proven productive when McMillan finally reunited with his family.
I want to thank @belenguerra and @fendit for this wonderful contest topic
