Decades Contest - My Entry

Hello, fellow Steemit users. This decade of 2011-20 has had many major changes in several fields, be it technology, science, films, tv shows. I would like to address the changes made in the cinematic field. Many movies, series, and anime were launched in this decade. The specific term "binge-watching" has especially been coined for the cinematic releases that have been this decade. So, I am going to talk about my favorite decade 2011-20.

Let's take a look at the major releases this decade -

Avengers Infinity War (2018)

- A major release in the Marvel productions was made this decade. The Infinity War was probably the best Marvel movie out there. The much-awaited fight between the Avengers and Thanos kicked off fantastically in this movie. The movie had epic action and fight scenes which were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The ending in particular left the audience awe-struck.

Game of Thrones (2011-19)

- The best and the most epic fantasy series out there is the Game of Thrones. It is my personal favourite. The series is based on the novel series, "A Game of Ice and Fire" and is a tale of the throne of England. The series is said to have the most number of watched episodes ever. The series also won several awards and nominations. With a total of 38 wins, it became the most awarded series in the Emmy awards history. The series in total won 308 awards and 628 nominations. Despite the finale not being that good, the series still holds a special place in the all-time favourites list.

Attack on Titan (2013- ) -

The decade was also the start of one of the most popular animes ever, Attack on Titan. The anime series is about Titans, giant flesh-eating monsters invading the human territory and how the humans fought them back. The story, the anime portrays is just flawless, full of action and suspense, you can never know what might happen the next moment. The animation is also very good.

Get Out (2017) -

Another great movie that came out this year is Get Out. It is a horror and thriller movie. The film also expresses the issue of racial trauma. The actors did their job superbly. The movie has a really different and creative plot. Instead of having too many unnecessary scenes and plots, the movie moves at a perfect pace, covering each and every crucial point of the plot.

Stranger Things (2016- ) -

Stranger Things is another great series that came out this decade. The series has won several awards and nominations. It has a fantastic horror, mystery-thriller genre. The show has child actors in the lead roles who have performed commendably. Although the seasons had similar subplots, we are hoping to see something new in the upcoming season.

Your Name (2016) -

An anime movie that won hearts and is deserving of all the appreciation with its fantastic and unique storyline and animation is Your Name. I have watched this movie 4-5 times. The movie is a must-watch for all. The movie's worldwide collection is breathtaking. This romantic-comedy movie was given such a unique and amazing twist through the plot. The scenes displayed in the movie have such beautiful animation.

The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy (2015, 2017, 2019) -

The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy comprising, The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019) was released this decade. Although the trilogy was not as promising as the previous trilogies yet for us Star Wars fans there was still some action and thrill provided to watch through this. The storyline of Star Wars was taken ahead and new changes were made in the plot. New characters were introduced and it was still really fun to watch.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013- ) -

One of the funniest sitcoms ever, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was released this decade. The creators of the show, who have created several wonderful sitcoms before (such as The Office, Parks, and Rec) have worked their magic once again. The show was canceled when it was in its prime, but luckily NBC launched it again, and it has been going smoothly. The show revolves around the lives and works of a few officers in the 99th precinct in New York.

My Hero Academia (2016- ) -

Another great superhero based anime series that was launched this decade is My Hero Academia. The series is set in a world where acquiring superpowers are common. The show has gained a lot of popularity and people are eagerly awaiting its further seasons.
