The ability of the actor to perform exceptionally depends on his talent, but there are actors who have managed to overcome the limits of talent and reach the limit of creativity by trying to reach the best possible form in order to perform their roles to the fullest, which led some to do some crazy things such as losing weight or gaining weight in order to appear appropriately for the role they will play

Here's a list of actors who have made amazing physical transformations to create their roles.

Matthew McConaughey

In 2013, Matthew McConaughey weighed in at 22kg for his role in the Dallas Buyers Club.

Set in 1985, Ron Woodoff discovers his HIV/AIDS, which contributes to life-changing and begins with the help of those around him and those with the disease.

McConaughey performed in the film to win the Best Actor Oscar for his acting effort and physical transformation.

Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy is one of Hollywood's most prominent actors, and in 2008 he was preparing for his first absolute championship after a large number of second roles.

Bronson's film was Hardy's first starring, so I'm particularly prepared for it, especially since the film revolves around the biography of British prisoner Charlie Bronson, who is the most dangerous prisoner in Britain.

Hardy prepared well for the role and interviewed the real Bornson, and built a muscle mass to gain 13 kg in order to form his physical structure suitable for the role.

In 2012, Hardy developed his muscular mass further in order to portray the villain Bane in the dark knight rises, and Hardy's transformation into his body was spectacular, winning great acclaim for his acting role and transformation in his form.

Jared Leto

After a large number of roles, Jared Leto decided in 2007 to take on a tough challenge in Chapter 27, which revolves around Mark Chapman, who killed American singer John Lennon and the days before the murder.

Leto gained 30 kg of weight in order to become close to Mark Chapman, but the film did not achieve the required returns despite Leto's apparent hard work.

50 Cent

In an experiment by the 50 Cent singer in All Things Fall Apart, he lost 24 kilograms to master his role in the film.

The film revolves around an American football player in his final year of school, trying to prove success and making Aster proud of him while fighting cancer.

Although 50 Cent was determined to lose weight, it did not help for the film, which quickly fell into the cycle of failure.

Jake Gyllenhaal

In order to prepare for NIGHTCRAWLER in 2014, Jake Gyllenhaal lost 14 kilograms of weight to embody the disheartening character he played in the film.

The film revolves around the ambitious young Louis Bloom who tries to make his way as a freelance photojournalist for crimes, and over time and into that world things overlap between being a photographer only and a participant in the events being filmed.

Critics and audiences paid tribute to the film and gyllenhaal's performance, which added to its weight loss, and many expected it to be awarded an Academy Award for that role.

One year later in 2015, Gyllenhaal needed to gain 13 kilograms and build a muscle mass for his role in Southpaw, in which he portrayed a boxer whose life disintegrates after the death of his wife and seeks to revive his career once again and restore his daughter from child protection.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks must be on that list with his 2000 cast away film about Chuck Nuland, whose plane crashes to live on a lonely isolated island to fight for survival.

In that film, Hanks performed a great performance that made him an Oscar nominee for Best Actor, but what prevented him from winning it was Russell Crowe's starring in Gladiator.

During the film, Hanks lost 24 kilograms, to illustrate what he had suffered in his life on the abandoned island of the film.

That was nothing new for Hanks, who did something similar in A League of Their Own when he gained weight to play a retired baseball player.

Robert De Niro

Robert De Niro is a particular lycée, and when he resorted to physical transformation, it was a special case, and in his 1980 film Raging Bull, he gained 27 kilograms of weight for just a few minutes at the end of the film, which was crazy.

The film revolves around the biography of boxer Jacques LaMotta during boxing competitions and mafia domination.

With De Niro's stunning performance and his weight gain in the final section of the film, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor.

Will Smith

One of Hollywood's most talented and diverse actors, he took on a tough challenge in 2001 with ali starring in the life story of the great boxer Muhammad Ali Clay.

In order to master his role, Smith made strenuous efforts to gain the right muscular mass for the role, and indeed was able to present the role creatively to make him an Academy Award nominee.

Matt Damon

Damon starred in Courage Under Fire in 1996, about Officer Nat investigating the death of Karen, a helicopter pilot, in order to award her a medal of honor after her death, but begins to discover many facts that change his point of view.

Although Matt Damon wasn't the main hero in the film, he worked hard, even cutting 22 kilograms to be fit for the role of a soldier suffering from post-war psychological effects and addiction.

Damon suffered from this weight loss, which affected his health for a long time.

Russell Crowe starred in Body of Lies in 2008 with Leonardo DiCaprio, and the film revolves around an Agent with U.S. phone calls chasing a terrorist leader amid incomprehensible things from some of his supervisors.

Colin Farrell

Despite always appearing graceful, Farrell gave it up and earned 18kg for his role in The Lobster in 2015.

The film takes place in the future, where the authorities send single people to a hotel to find a life partner within 45 days, and if they don't, they are sent as beasts to the forest, making David try hard to survive that fate.

Anne Hathaway

Actress Anne Hathaway was one of the co-presenters of Les Misérables in 2012, and she performed exceptionally with that huge work.

In order to master her role, she said in a press interview, she resorted to a diet to lose about 12 kilograms, and she refrained from eating for 13 days in order to appear in the film that she was about to die.

That mastery and effort has been very fruitful, winning her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and the Golden Globe slot for Best Supporting Actress.

Christian Bale

The most famous actor in manipulating their weights, Bill has changed his weight more than once in order to perfect his role and present it in more than one film.

In 2004, he weighed 29 kg to 55kg for the film The Machinist, which embodies the character of the troubled worker who suffers from insomnia to the fullest.

In 2005, he gained a weight of up to 82 kilograms with a muscle mass for his appearance as Batman begins.

In 2006, he was forced to lose 61 kilograms to his role in Rescue Dawn, where he portrayed a Navy pilot, whose plane crashed during the 1965 Bombing of Laos.

In 2008, he regained his muscular mass again in order to continue Christopher Nolan's masterpiece The Dark Knight, but then had to give up his muscles again, and in 2010 he participated in The Fighter and lost weight to his role as an addicted young man, and bill in that film won an Academy Award for best supporting actor.

In 2012, Bill regained his muscular mass and weight again for The Dark Knight Rises, and then in 2013 in American Hustle, when he gained 18 kilograms in weight to master the role of the thief Irving Rosenfeld.

Bill regained his weight for a while before returning to another dramatic turnaround in Vice in 2018, earning 21 kg of weight for the film in which Cheney's autobiography was performed by former Us Vice President George W. Bush.

His good performance contributed to his award for Best Actor at the Golden Globeawards
