YCONTEST: Movies Based on True Stories

in Writing & Reviews3 years ago (edited)

Titanic is a 1997 disaster romantic film. The film is directed, written and co-produced by James Cameron. The main characters are Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack Dawson) and Kate Winslet (Rose Dewitt Bouquet). Jack fell in love with Rose, the daughter of the upper class, on the Titanic. The film depicts the tragedy of the Titanic in 1912. Although the love story and the main characters are fictional, many of the side characters are based on historical facts. Gloria Stewart plays the character of old Rose.

Filming for the Titanic began in 1995. It was at this time that Cameron began photographing the actual wreckage of the Titanic at the bottom of the Atlantic. He created the love story to evoke the tragedy of the Titanic through human real life tragedy. The film was shot in modern times on the Akademik Mstislav Keldysh, an ally of Russia's Mir expedition, and the old Titanic was rebuilt for the ancient Titanic. The Titanic has been rebuilt at the Playas de Rosarito in Baha'i, California. Cameron has also used scale modeling and computer animation to capture the scene of the sinking of the Titanic. At that time, Titanic was the biggest budget picture in the world. The film cost a total of about 200 million. Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox co-sponsored the event. Though it was supposed to be released on July 2, 1997, due to delays in the construction process, the Titanic was finally released on December 19. After hearing about the postponement of the release date, many thought that this film would not be released and Fox and Paramount would face huge losses. Although the hopes weren't high, after its release, the Titanic received rave reviews from critics and viewers alike. The Titanic's two biggest achievements are: winning the Academy Award in 11 of 14 cases and earning the most money of all time. Excluding the issue of inflation, no movie has made more money than Titanic. The Titanic has grossed 2.18 billion. However, considering inflation, Titanic is the 7th highest grossing movie in North America. And no movie has won more than 11 Oscars. Only Ben-Hur and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, except for the Titanic, have won 11 Oscars. Pleace reviw my story @belenguerra @fendit
