Contest: Movies Based on True Story
Hello everyone,
It is a pleasure to participate in this contest and to come your way with my review for my selected choice for movies based on True Story. Before i tell you about my movie though let me take a moment to express gratitude to @fendit and @belenguerra for their efforts and an amazing contest.
Escape from Sobibor
I watched this movies when i was very much a kid, or perhaps a teenager? I am not even sure however the story really got to me and stayed with me as i grew up and even though it has probably been a decade since i watched to me it is still one of the best true story movies i have ever watched.
The story is based on events of world war 2 looks at members of one of the prison camps of the Nazis trying to make an escape from their hell. It opens with a new arrival of prisoners for the camp and these new arrivals are quickly separated based on an already existing criteria or workers, aged and children.
Then just like that the horror begins, individuals who would supposed be a burden to the camp because they have not skill or input to give are sent to be burnt alive and these included the aged and children. And that was where my sadness began.
The story continues to follow some group of individuals who begin to stand up to the Nazi officers in their own ways as it progresses, they come together and begin to make plots as to how they can escape the place and begins to target some of the senior officers to take down so as to have a better advantage for the guard post pass.
As this goes on one get to witness some narrow escapes for these brave young men well and i think some few women too added up, civilians turn soldiers in that regard to protect their loved ones and their lives. Finally the D day comes, although things didn't go as smoothly as they had wanted and didn't get to kill the villain we all wanted to see dead they had to improvise at the last minute.
Alarms blare, guns fire in all directions and the running begins for prisoners, some were lucky enough to have headed in the right direction and escaped without they been dropped dead by the mines whereas others weren't so lucky and went through the mine field. You see some favorite characters die and some make it and you are filled with mixed emotions.
In the end they escape and you probably end up shouting for joy if you are like me when it comes to watching movies. The stories of some individual characters and how their lives went to be after the whole incident rows on your screen till we get the dark screen.
Conclusion
For those who may not have watched this movies i certainly recommend it for you, it is nice and also a true story, get ready to be on an emotional roller coaster ride though, i am not certain as to whether it is on netflix now however i am sure you will get it online. No one needs to be told that this movie is a real life event, all the things displayed in the movie and how it was acted shows. . I watched it when I was a little boy
