Your Favorite Character ..Writing and Reviews --- Contest Entry

Hello, fellow Steemians. I hope everyone is well? First of all, I would like to thank @belenguerra and @fendit from the @writingnreviews community for the opportunity to participate in this contest. Today, I will be introducing my favorite character and explain my reasons for such a strong propensity towards him.

My favorite character is a fictional one from the long-standing series “POWER” The name of the character is St. James Patrick, sometimes referred to as Ghost. Omari Hardwick played this character. Ghost is a liked character because he embodies several qualities that are vital to the survival of any individual. He is highly intelligent, thinks strategically, and sometimes ruthless.

I admire St. James Patrick for his mental fortitude and long-term thinking game. Unlike his rivals, who were constantly seeking short-term solutions to problems, Ghost was specific about the results of his undertakings. Hence before St. James Patrick made any decision, he painstakingly researched and gathered any intelligence deemed important before concluding the respective matter. He is an open-minded character who adapts his plan and strategies as circumstances changed. He also looked at issues from distinct perspectives and anticipated probable outcomes and developed potential solutions.

Ghost never fully trusted any other character in the series “Power”, and that was a trait that proved valuable in his journey in the series. In money, power, and love seeking environment, double-crossing seemed to be the norm. Betrayals frequently came from the least expected characters. Ghost, however, was not always like this. He chose to become this monster because friends and families broke his trust. Hence, he had no other option than to pose as a double agent- close as a friend, but far as a spy. He always had the mindset that someone was out there to kill him, which often was true. So Ghost was extra careful in his dealings, utterances, and actions.

Rome was not built in a day, but it can be destroyed in a day. The previous sentence is a metaphor that emphasizes several abstract concepts that can be ruined instantly, even though it took an eternity to build. St. James Patrick understood this concept. Hence, throughout the series, he protected his public image and reputation.

As a drug dealer and a politician, he took critical actions to either wipe his misdeeds or silence people who knew about them. His strategies were not always brutal. Other times, he simply went into hiding or distanced himself from certain characters and acts. Therefore, it was difficult for the law enforcement personnel to connect him to any vice.

These and many reasons are why I find the St. James Patrick character from the “POWER” series very attractive. Thanks for reading. Have a nice day.
