Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is the first book and what a coincidence this would be my first book review here on Steem. The story begins at Number 4 Privet Drive, where a young boy named Harry Potter lives in a cupboard beneath the stairs of a house owned by Mr and Mrs Dursley and their spoiled son Dudley. The first quarter of the book depicts Harry receiving letters addressed to him in his cupboard, with a crest depicting the letters S, G, R, and H embellished with a snake, a griffin, an eagle, and a badger at the top of each letter.

Even as an adult reading it on my own, I found it to be a delightful book with a magical (pun intended) plot and a cast of colorful and diverse characters. The interactions between Harry, Ron, and Hermione are fantastic. They make an ideal trio of friends, with strengths and weaknesses that perfectly complement each other. I have a lot of respect for the Weasleys. They may not have much in the way of material possessions, but they are a family I would like to be a part of because they are warm and loving.

I recommend this book to children and adults who want to read a fantasy story; it will most likely satisfy their desire. This book was later adapted into a film, which did not require any screenplay adaptation because the text itself contains more detail. As a result, anyone who reads the book will have no trouble visualizing the entire scene. A book that can entice any type of reader and keep them reading until the end.
