This book titled "Things Fall Apart" was written by Chinua Achebe a well known Africa Literature writer. Achebe shows the explicit of the Igbo society, specifically at the period where the white man that came into Nigeria as a missionary, trader and administrator started getting into religious affairs. Igbo culture is predominantly fabricated into the book which takes reader through Umuofian society.

Okonkwo is the major character in the novel, that was used to tell the story of the Igbo people at a point. Okonkwo started his lifeq as a son of a poor man but through dint of several hard work and perseverance, Okonkwo succeeded, and became one of the great wrestler. He played very hard and worked very hard. The Igbo lived in a place where things are considered essentials as far as contemporary evaluation of culture norms and civilization is important.

Okonkwo violated the law of his native land which expels him from the land and he flees to his mother village for 7 years. After he came back from the exile to his fatherland he finds out that everything has changed after the arrival of the white men that came for missionaries. The worst day happened to Okonkwo, when his Son became a Christian which the law opposes. Okonkwo was very angried and said, if the villagers have rejected colonialism from the beginning, things might have change definitely.

The white man that they had received and accommodated within a short while sent his men to order to stop every meeting that is must have been going on in the village. Okonkwo in anger drew his knife and killed the senior messenger of the white man thinking that the other messenger would fight him. Although he realized that things had truely fallen apart. The book ends with the theme "Things Fall Apart".
