  4. Ugidi
  5. Achanya

The Ipem-Ihihe is the New Sweet potato and New Yam Celebration of the Bekwarra people's of Northern Cross Criss State. Bekwarra is a clan of individuals domiciled in a 306 sq2 of land mass with remarkable and rich cultural practices like each other clan in the heaven state.

With a populace of around 150,000 (2006 evaluation), it brags as one the most populated neighborhood government territory in the state. The Bekwarrians (as beautifully called) are commonly warm, inviting, and obliging.

Basically, the type of revenue of the Bekwarra public is to a great extent dependent on Farming and othe agricultural businesses. Individuals develop food crops for utilization and business purposes. It is essentially pointed toward praising the rich social Culture of the Bekwarra people and the Ruler of bekwarra. In light of the people' conviction that sweet potato and New Yam remains the ruler of all yields in the land. The festival of new Yam is frequently joined by services that is made of conventional rituals and standard practices.

Preceding the rise and pervasiveness of Christianity and other present day framework, a day prior to the primary celebration, penances of thanksgiving are offered to the predecessors and divine forces of reap, for a plentiful gather and prosperous season.

Nonetheless, because of the coming of Christianity and the imperialism of Bekwarra land, the conventional and custom festival of the Ipem-Ihihe feast is bit by bit consuming.

Ipem-Ihihe feast is currently ordinarily polished in chapel, particularly by the Roman Catholics. Bekwarra Christians offer Sweet potatoes and New Yam as penances in a thanksgiving Service in the Christian Church and hold a blowout of Festivity to express gratitude toward God for a productive collect.

This doesn't totally disintegrate the way of life, as a festival (without culture) that is current is as yet facilitated each merry day and visitors are welcome to go to in the Neighborhood government central command, Abuochiche.

This is more current and has total nothing to do with the ceremonial customs that was polished those days. In this event, the things on the plan incorporates: Social motorcade, conventional dance rivalry, grant for best sweet potato rancher of the year, best palm wine tapper, customary music execution by nearby Bekwarra artistes, excellence challenges (Mr. and Miss Ipem-Ihihe), disguise show, march of Bekwarra foods and so forth

It is additionally a well established actuality in the Bekwarra culture that this season – the Ipem-Ihihe season, is the most liberal season for any Bekwarra child and girl. Town heads frequently lecture the reason for this dining experience as a day to shower love - providing for your neighbor, companions and others around you. This is additionally viewed as a feature of the conventional act of the Ipem-Ihihe celebration.

The gala additionally fills in as a slim line that associates customary network pioneers, political pioneers and the town individuals together.

The social legacy of Nigeria is protected in the state.

Bekwarra social personality and the rich social legacy in the land can likewise be safeguarded, supported, and advanced through individual good connection to the rule that maintained our set of experiences and culture.
