Gabi Wilson, also known by stage name H.E.R.(Having Everything revealed), is an American RnB/Soul singer. After coming into limelight with her debut EP Vol 1, she has followed it up with four other EP's( Vol 2, I used to know her: Prelude, I used to know her: part 2, ) including her just released debut album 'Back of my mind'. The 24 year old has slowly crawled her way through the hearts of music lovers all around the world, especially RnB lovers. She's a 2 time Grammy award winner and has also bagged an Oscar as well.

ABOUT THE SONG
Hard place, a track in her EP( I Used To Know Her), is a song that passes a message about loving someone so much that even his/her bad traits doesn't stop you from loving.
It however brings you to a place where you'd have to choose between the love or staying in a position that leaves you pitiful ( Hard Place)

Line 1 - 3
Wanna believe what you say
But I hate you on most days
You've been testing my faith and my patience

Analytics
She's been kept in a position where she has no choice, notwithstanding what the guy does right/wrong

Line 4 - 11
And you know that I be headstrong
But you know that you be dead wrong
Telling me to relax when I'm reacting

But I, I'd rather fight
Than lose sleep at night
At least you're all mine
And if, I have to choose
My heart or you, I'm gonna lose

Analytics
I think the last two lines pretty sums it up!
She is like ' If it ever gets to a point where she literally had to pick between her heart and the guy, she wouldn't know what to do. She loved that much!

CHORUS
And what if nothing ever will change
Oh, I'm caught between your love and a hard place
Oh, I wish there was a right way
I'm caught between your love and a hard place

Analytics
I think the line 4 in this chorus hits really deep!
And an Irony of it's own.
Because she's taking the wrong way (by not choosing right, which is her heart) as the right way. Meaning she literarily doesn't have a 'right way' anymore.

Verse 2
Do I even have a choice when
I'm gonna have to pick my poison?
You hurt me so good, it's so good
And even when you caused tears
You're the one who wiped them away
Maybe that's the reason I stay, I stay

Analytics
I think line 1 -2 in this verse is a rhetorical question.
It's a puzzle of it's own.
Then I think line 3 - 6, sums up why she's taking these steps and making these choices....
It's like getting your shirt torn by a needle and going to that same needle to get stitched up.
She's made herself the victim

It's really a Hard place. So complicated!!

Best regards.
