📚 New contest: BOOK REVIEW!! // The winner is alone.!!
The novel is a more or less elaborate reflection of what social and economic success is supposed to be, how it corrupts the values that normally lead to a balanced and happy life. The central characters of the novel, either are installed in success and in most cases are unhappy, or they are fighting for it and they are realizing the sacrifices that this will entail.
The above reflection is set in Cannes, but this is secondary. Any other environment could have served. To hook the novel, Coelho invents a murder plot by one of the characters (Igor), but this is secondary again. The basic idea that I think he is trying to convey is that what is normally considered the paradigm of happiness, in the sense of being installed in a position of economic and social power, also contains his ghosts, his fears and his worries, and in fact, it can cause the same misery as misery.
In this book, Coelho draws us a world overshadowed by ambition and jealousy, a world where reaching the top becomes an obsession that manages to blind many people.
Through different characters, some famous and others engaged in the search to be famous, we are presented with a picture where morality and common sense are displaced. The book is good and it is read in an agile and fast way.
If you like Coelho, you will like this book ... Interesting plot, interesting reflections, curious characters
The craziest thing about this book is not just getting into the character of Igor and feeling his desire for revenge against his ex-wife and her boyfriend. Rather, we feel like we are the killer in the book and it's very interesting.
Nobody catches it. In fact, all the murders were perfect.
In the end he kills his ex-wife and her boyfriend. He goes on a plane
And manages to get away with it.
