Hello to everyone, hope you all are doing great. I come with a very interesting story from the collection of panchatantra for you all.

There was a poor man called Haridatta, who worked in the fields to be able to feed his family. This poor man was a very hardworking man but yet still he was not getting the results he expected as he worked in the fields. One day after working hard in the field, he got tired and decided to rest for a while under a tree.
As he laid down to rest, he saw a serpent snake coming out from an anthill just in the middle of the field. And the most amazing thing was the man said to himself in his mind "this snake might be the guardian deity of the field". He said the field was barren because he had not acknowledged the snake.
The man sent some milk to the serpent snake and asked the serpent to forgive him since he did not know the snake lived here.

After serving the snake with a bowl of milk, the man went home. He came back the next day and didn't see the snake but realized that there was a gold coin in the bowl. The man was surprised but he knew it was from the snake. So he decided to feed the snake every day and each time he feeds the snake he finds a gold coin in the bowl the next day.

The man travelled one day and left his son in charge of feeding the snake. His son fed the snake with the bowl of milk and the next day the man's son saw a gold coin in the bowl. He was surprised but very happy. The boy decided to kill the snake since he was told there was more gold in the anthill. He would then take all the gold after he kills the snake, but unfortunately, in his attempt to kill the snake, he failed and the snake bit him to his death.

The man returned from his journey. He heard what happened to his son. The man blamed his son for his stupid actions and still went to the snake. He called out the snake. Because of his greed, he praised the snake in order to get more gold coins. He had forgotten about what happened to his son.
The snake was shocked the man still came to him after the snake killed his son. The serpent ended their friendship but gave him a diamond worth a lot of money. The serpent called him a greedy man because he had not even mourned his son. He told the man not to come back. We should all learn from this because too much greed is a disease which can affect our precious lives.

This is powerful. Greed is a dangerous trait which shares a greater part in the main problems the world is facing now.
