Venom Movie Review

Today we gonna talk about another Marvel film, Venom in particular. It's a film that many people and fans of Marvel were asking for and in 2018 it became a reality. Obviously, the film was controversial but it was actually more than anyone anticipated but I'll explain that near the end of my post.

Generic Info

Venom came out on 5 October 2018, directed by Ruben Fleischer and starring the one and only Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, and Riz Ahmed. The movie is close to 2 hours long. It isn't that violent as somebody would expect from a film that is around Venom but still, it has a lot of action.

Plot

Tom Hardy plays Eddie Brock an investigative reporter known for his unusual methods in acquiring information. He sneaked into a high-tech lab for his investigation and acquited a rather odd specimen. Turns out, that specimen was a symbiote and more specifically it was Venom. Venom enters Eddie and Eddie is starting to have more weird behaviors than ever.

Soon he will understand and discover more about Venom, its origin and purpose as well as about the other symbiotes are in Earth. Venom will take a liking to Eddie and Earth and he will try to protect it along with Eddie of course. That won't be easy because for now, he has to face Riot, another symbiote that doesn't share the same belief as Eddie and Venom.

What i Liked and what Didn't

First of all, i really like Tom Hardy's acting. The guy in each and every movie gives his everything and you can tell. I also really liked the visuals. In a way, it reminded me of transformers but this time they did many slow motions. In the slow motions, you could actually see and understand what was going on. If the movie had no slow motion in the fight scenes between the symbiotes then the movie would be a complete disaster as you couldn't understand and see a single thing.

Btw the ending was amazing, it gave us a hint as to which his next enemy will be and which actor will portray him but i won't spoil anything!

I didn't like at all the character of Anne which was his ex-wife. Her acting was poor and the way they portrayed the character had no meaning and made no sense in many scenes. I bet they did it to show the "women power" which is completely irrelevant in that show. If you want to see some Women Power go and watch the first movie of Wonder Woman which was simply amazing.

Finally, something that is quite controversial was the way they portrayed Venom. They took a different approach completely and it isn't the Venom we are all used to. Venom is a villain but in the film, he looks more heroic and "good" than ever. So i get those fans of the comic and villain that wanted to see him as the villain he is.

Ahh another sad part is the critics who have completely no idea of the Marvel universe and thus their critic is completely clueless and biased. For example, in rotten tomato, the score that the critics gave to the movie was 30/100 but the audience gave an 81/100. Can you see and understand now why that difference is so huge?
