This is my review and writing about RHCP's Snow or Hey Oh song

in Writing & Reviews4 years ago

This is Snow by Red Hot Chili Peppers, This amazing song was the third hit song from their 2006 album on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, the album's name is Stadium Arcadium. The song was released as the follow-up single to "Tell Me Baby", The vocalist of the band, Antony Kiedis said that this track is "about surviving, starting fresh. I've made a mess of everything, but I have a blank slate—a canvas of snow—and I get to start over."
This song was performed in one of their concerts in 2012 at Goffertpark in Nijmegen, Netherlands, It was the first time that the band was performing it since the end of the Stadium Arcadium Tour, nearly five years earlier.

Snow or Hey Oh, is a Characteristically soft and melodic song, it is like the mood of the songs in their prior album By The Way. The main part of the song is driven by a rapid guitar riff by John Frusciante which as we know he is inspired by artists like Jimi Hendrix and we can hear that the style of John is like that and it is so interesting, and also Flea performed double stops on his bass and the song was written in the G# minor.

The song starts with a clean guitar which John is performing his catchy melodic arpeggio and with a drums fills and a bass line it keeps going forward and there in 00:20 Antony starts to sing the first verse, in 0:37 with another drum fills it goes to the chorus section but they are performing it light and it is still as soft as the verse section. and we can hear how nicely John is singing the back vocals harmonies behind Antony's vocals, in 0:57 we can hear a sound of Organ which it gave a great emotion to the song, it keeps going forward to the next chorus, in 1:32 they are performing a bridge and we can hear some nice drums tom sound while the Guitar is playing a fast melodic riff and after 1:46 it is the second part of the bridge which they are performing it heavier with funky electric guitar riffs with fast bass guitar riffs, then it goes back to the verse instrumental then they keep singing the verse again with both vocals and with more energy. in 3:10 there is the next bridge with some lead guitar added and then it goes to the last bridge which it starts with less instruments and keeps growing till the end with vocals and lead guitar melodies. in the 5:10 there is some different lead melodies which they end it with the lead guitar's sound continuing till the final part.

As I enjoy listening to covers of songs, this time I am sharing this beautiful acoustic instrumental cover of Snow by this amazing Russian artist,Igor Presnyakov, listen and enjoy!
