Film genres are ways, yeah stylistic ways of categorizing movies based on their narrative elements. They all have their individual uniqueness in terms of the stories they tell. I personally defines it as a style of categorizing movies.
Genres have changed and evolved over time, creating several subgenres that further define the filmmaking styles.

But what comes to your mind when you hear of the word CATEGORY as it relates to genre? ? Action?? Okay let's find out.

People who watched at the cinema understood how arranged and uniform it was. Every movie you watch, must definitely fall under a specific category.
People mostly go to the theater to watch a war film, a musical, or a comedy, which falls under different genres entirely.

Now let's see some types of genres.

Once hearing the name of a genre, you can easily tell what type of movies fall under that category.
Action
Comedy
Drama
Fantasy
Horror
Mystery
Romance
Thriller
Western
It is from these main genres above that we started having sub genres.

My favourite genre is undoubtedly the Action movie genre. Let's go on people.

Action films are a film genre where action sequences, such as fighting, stunts, car chases or explosions, take precedence over elements like characterization or complex plotting.

The action typically involves individual efforts on the part of the hero, in contrast with most war films. The genre is closely linked with the thriller and adventure film genres.

When I started loving this genre.

I can remember but it's has truly been a long time ago, since when I was very young.

As a child, my types of movies as always been war films. I can vividly remember some all movies, like the black hawk down, we were soldiers, transporter, tears in the sun and lots more.

Another thing that contributed to the reason why I love action movies is because my dad was a military man, and we lived in the barracks. So every was an action for me, truly action.

I could also remember those good old days when a lot of people trooped into our home each time just so I could lend them a movie plate. But heyyy, I have never been a rough guy and I'm still not a rough guy.

what I like most about action movies.

Friends!!! This is the best for me, and for most people. In every 10 men, 8 of them love action movies.

Anytime I'm watching an action movie, an atmosphere of braveness and positivity is created around me. It's like I'm the protagonist.

And also, just as we all know, action movies has a lot of action scenes. The actions is exactly what people love about this category of movies.

Action drama

Combines action set-pieces with serious themes, character insight and emotional power.

Buddy cop

Two cops team-up as the main protagonists. Major examples are Rush Hour, 48 hour and bad boys for life.

Action comedy

It is a mixture of the action and comedy series in a movie.

Action thriller

Elements of action/adventure (car chases, shootouts, explosions) and thriller (plot twists, suspense, hero in jeopardy).

Caper / heist

Protagonists in this series are carrying different robbery and attacks.

Die Hard

Story takes place in limited location - single building or vehicle - seized or under threat by enemy agents.

Action horror

It is a type of action movie with additional scientific features. Monsters, robots and many other staples of horror have been used in this category.

How did action movies genre started?

Is is undoubtedly the most oldest genre in filmmaking.
If there’s one genre of story that is as old as mankind itself, it’s action. It has always been a part of our/human history since from the beginning.

And, if you look back through the genre histories of literature, theater, and art, they all tell tales of heroes, villains, fights, and — eventually — plenty of explosions, which are all involved in placing this genre as the oldest.

Action is old, it's truly a very old film category compared to other genres.

My favourite movie in this genre

My best movie in this category is John wick.

Brief Review on John Wick.

This movie is about a man, an assassin who's wife died untimely. He got a gift from his wife, a precious keepsake to help John find a new meaning in life now that she is gone.

But then, the arrogant Russian mob prince, Iosef Tarasov and his men decided to rob John's 1969 Mustang and his wife's present, which made him unearth his meticulously concealed identity.

John wick later seek for revenge, and for this he killed, Viggo Tarasov, and his family, who are fully aware of his lethal capacity. He didn't stop after killing them, he is now a bloody killer. Lots of men seek to kill him too. Find movie in Netflix and watch.
