Lets talk about my favorite character...
His name is John Patrick Ryan, known as Jack Ryan.
He's the main character in a series of books written by Tom Clancy (USA) famous for his military, counterspionage and antiterrorism stories starting in the Cold War years.
He has been brought to the big screen under titles like Hunt for Red October, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of all Fears and Patriot Games, all parts of different moments of Jack Ryan's life and interpreted by prime actors like Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin and Ben Affleck.

He is a Historian that an unexpected chance brought him to be a CIA analyst and ends as President of the USA in a complex history filled with intense drama in an almost 30 years period of his life. He's a patriot who's in a place he never chose but attends his call of duty for his country. He is surrounded by friends and partners loyal to him because he earned their respect through the years. The enemies he had in the cold war years became his friends afterwards because they considered Jack Ryan as a man of honour.
I've chosen him because he's an ethical character who never flees or deny his duty even if he doesn't like the weight of the power relied on him. He also puts his family at first, making him a man with a broad sense of responsibility while he tries to be the best husband and father he can. I see myself reflected in him.
I'm still reading his books. So far I'm in the middle of book #14, Dead or Alive.

There's a TV Series called Jack Ryan in Amazon that is based in the character but is not so precise about the facts in the books.

I've heard there's a new Tom Clancy's movie related to him: No Remorse, but in the book Jack is just a youngster and it's his father (Emmet Ryan, a police detective) the one who appears there.
