## Assisting nurses and doctors in the healthcare sector

in Writing & Reviews3 years ago

Have you ever tried to help someone and the person isn't making any attempt to help themselves? It has happened to me several times and any times it happens, I feel very reluctant to continue giving the person any help. How do you feel when it happens?

It is the same thing in healthcare. If you as a patient make no attempt to care for yourself, the nurses or other healthcare workers are unlikely to be motivated to cater for you.

As a patient or carer, you should assist the nurses in your care. It doesn't mean you should do their work for them, but you can make it easier.

For example, if you want to vomit, you do it in a bucket rather than the floor (if you can), if the nurse is lifting you, you try to lift yourself too. In procedures where you cannot assist, you can at least cooperate.

This may sound like little, but it goes a long way to improve on the quality of care you

True. But it all balls down to the patient capacity or strength at that point in time.

Its understandable that the patient needs to try their best to help or cooperate with the nurses and doctors for a safe and faster recovery. But not everyone has the same body system, some cannot control the reflex actions the body exhibition. While some can.

Hmm, that's why its important to have someone next to you. To help you.

Lovely post.

Great reply and well analyzed. Thanks for taking your time to read well👏🏾👏🏾
