Take a look at the interest of users for Steemit in Google Trends

Hello, my dear steemians!! Today I bring you information that blew my mind. In this need to investigate different things, I was curious to find out what is happening in Google Trends regarding #steemit. As you know, Google Trends is the part of our beloved Google that is responsible for analyzing trends, that is, what Internet users are looking for the most.

As from my point of view, there are few users from Argentina, my country, I thought that this would be a good source to see what is happening in the rest of the world with Steemit. And the numbers show the reality that many of us will have already detected by being active members of this ecosystem.

To be honest, in October I also did the same! But for one thing or another, I didn't write the post. However, I saved the screenshots, which you can view enlarged to review their metadata if you wish.

The information that you will see below has variables

On one hand, it is observed that South Korea is in the first place, leading the interest by region (we will come back to this in a moment); on the other hand, in the month of October, Venezuela was located in 5th place, and a clear predominance of searches is observed in America, Europe, and north-central Asia.

See what happens in December

China, which was not even seen in the top 5, moves to 2nd place just behind South Korea, which remains firmly in the lead. Venezuela climbs to 3rd place, and we have a new country: Nigeria. Ghana also appears in December, but Nigeria catches my attention because I have seen a clear activity of steemians from that country.

The map, in general, remains similar, but Africa loses participation, while Asia turns almost everything blue.

Interest by region

This basically means that the absolute search values ​​are not taken into account (that is, the exact number of times the word "Steemit" was searched), but rather that a relationship is established between the total number of searches, and the searches specific to a country.

In this case, it is not that the word Steemit was searched 3 times in Venezuela, but that this represents 5% of searches worldwide.

The situation looks pathetic, doesn't it? Only one province in this huge country seems to show interest in the platform. This 100% only indicates that all searches correspond to the Province of Buenos Aires, therefore if there was only one search, that would be representing 100%.

While currently (December 2020), Venezuela ranks 3rd in search interest, Argentina ranks 28th. This seems like a very bad thing, but it's actually good to know. It encourages the task of promoting everything that can be done to this platform. Hola mis queridos steemians!! Hoy les traigo una información que al menos a mí, me voló la cabeza. En esta necesidad de investigar distintas cosas, sentí la curiosidad de averiguar qué está pasando en Google Trends con respecto a #steemit. Como sabrán, Google Trends es la parte de nuestro amado Google que se encarga de analizar las tendencias, es decir, qué es lo que más buscan los usuarios de Internet.

Como desde mi punto de vista hay pocos usuarios de Argentina, mi país, pensé que esa sería una buena fuente para ver qué esta pasando en el resto del mundo con Steemit. Y los números arrojan la realidad que muchos de nosotros ya habremos detectado al ser miembros activos de este ecosistema.

Para serles sincera, en Octubre también hice lo mismo! Pero por una cosa u otra, no escribí la publicación. Sin embargo, guardé las capturas de pantalla, que podrán ver ampliadas para revisar su metadata si lo desean.

Se observa que en primer lugar está Corea del Sur, encabezando elinterés por región. Volveremos a esto en un momento. Por otro lado, en el mes de octubre, Venezuela se ubicaba en 5to lugar, y se observa un claro predominio de búsquedas en América, europa y el centro-norte de Asia.

China, que ni siquiera se veía entre los primeros 5 países, pasa a star en 2do lugar justo detrás de Corea del Sur, que se mantiene firme a la cabeza. Venezuela escala al 3er lugar, y tenemos un nuevo país: Nigeria. Ghana también aparece en diciembre, pero me llama la atención Nigeria porque sí que he visto una clara actividad de steemians de dicho país.

El mapa en general se mantiene similar, pero África pierde participación, mientras que Asia se tiñe casi todo de celeste.

Interés por región

Esto significa, básicamente, que no se tienen en cuenta los valores absolutos de búsqueda (es decir, la cantidad exacta de veces que se buscó la palabra "Steemit"), sino que se establece una relación entre el ttal de búsquedas, y las búsquedas correspondientes específicamente a un país.

En este caso, no es que se buscó 3 veces la palabra Steemit en Venezuela, sino que esto representa el 5% de las búsquedas a nivel mundial.

En este caso haré la comparación entre el mes de diciembre ylos últimos 7 días de diciembre. Para los últimos 7 días agregaré el mapa de octubre (no tomé captura del mes entero, por eso no puedo hacer ahora ese análisis).

La situación se ve patética, ¿no? Solo una provincia de este enorme país parece mostrar interés en la plataforma. Ese 100% solo nos indica que todas las búsquedas corresponden a Provincia de Buenos Aires, por lo tanto si hubo sólo una búsqueda, esa estaría representando el 100%.

Por ello... busqué lo que pasó la última semana:

COMPARACIÓN ENTRE ARGENTINA Y VENEZUELA

Mientras que actualmente (diciembre de 2020), Venezuela ocupa el 3er lugar en interés de búsqueda, Argentina ocupa el número 28. Esto parece algo muy malo, pero en realidad es bueno saberlo. Impulsa a la tarea de promover todo lo que se pueda a esta platafrma. Lamentablemente nuestra cultura desconfiada lo hace difícil, y he comprobado esto hablando con los pocos steemians que hay de Argentina, pero...

Así que tengo la esperanza de que conforme pasen los días, más argentinos se animen a vivir esta hermosa experiencia.
