The Interview Showcase #63- Exclusive Talk With A Nigerian Creative Blogger

in Hot News Community10 months ago

Hi there,

Welcome to the 63rd edition of “The interview showcase...." and my 33rd show for 2023. Stay calm and follow along as I unveil this interesting edition of the Interview showcase.

If you are new to this page, this lifestyle program has many educational values. A weekly interview of top users/users in the blog concerning some trending topics on the Steemit platform. And tips that can help other Steemians to progress positively and help boost the Steem’s growth.

It will help you to get to know more about Steemians around the globe and even Steem and Steemit itself.

I take time to look at some of the most important topics in the blockchain and have a chat/call with top Steemians who have a greater idea about those topics.

They also share some tips that can help other users understand the blockchain and correctly use it. Sometimes they seek valuable suggestions here to help them solve some of their challenges.

I had a conversation with @sahmie from Nigeria. He has been showing his creativity on his blog through his various interesting publications. Many users have made a request for me to feature him and today he is here. Join me as I find out more about him....

Ubongudofot
: Hello Sahmie, it's nice to have you on my Interview Showcase today, maybe I have known a little information about you through some investigations, but how will you describe yourself to the Steemit community?

🔶Sahmie: I would explain myself to be a simple and candid person. Someone who Loves to be at peace with anyone and everyone I come across and, someone who always sees the best in others.

Ubongudofot
: How long have you been on the Steemit blog? And how will you describe your experience on Steemit since you joined?

🔶Sahmie: It's been over 2 years and counting since I came on board this journey on May 2021. To be precise, my introduction was done on May 7th, so that would be 2 years, 3 months precisely.

Ubongudofot
: I have noticed you to be a hardworking user presently moderating in the Healthy Steem community, do you think there is much-plagiarised content there, and how do you ensure there is none?

🔶Sahmie: I must say I'm flattered as you say you notice my work, I'm having butterflies in my stomach right now. About plagiarised content, I believe it's the work of lethargic content creators but since the creation of awareness against this act by the Steemit team and communities in general, I believe it's been cut down to the barest minimum. In communities, where I work as a moderator, it is mostly the newcomers who are still being found culpable of it but by educating them, they learn and distance themselves from it..

Ubongudofot
: I know "Healthy Steem" which is a community you are moderating is a new community, and "Steem Fashion&Style" Do you think your admin would adopt the Multisig wallet wizard by @pennsif team in these communities?

🔶Sahmie: First of all, I must say I count myself lucky to be working in those communities even as Steem Fashion and Style is not going as planned. About the Multisig wallet, the little I know about my admins is enough for me to say they would welcome the idea, as they are rooted in growing not just the communities to support the subscribers but also the platform at large..

Ubongudofot
: Will you say blogging on Steemit has affected you positively?

🔶Sahmie: 100%, I have gained positively not only in terms of finance but also socially. I was a very shy person but look at me now, I have so many people I relate with.

Ubongudofot
: How have you contributed to Steem's growth in your country?

🔶Sahmie: I've maintained my club status (#Club100) for as long as I can remember (I think over a year now) by powering up my Steems, I've also done well in creating quality and original content free from plagiarism and AI. Lastly, I carry out my duties as MOD to heart with passion and dedication.

Ubongudofot
: Which area do you think your country needs to work on to improve its growth in the blog?

🔶Sahmie: When I came on board this journey, there were a lot of great and reputable Nigerians on this platform that I looked up to, I think we lack that right now. We need mentors that will carry us under their arms to direct our path..

Ubongudofot
: You have some interesting publications on your page, do you think you have enough audience/engagements in these various publications?

🔶Sahmie: 😊, I am happy you see my publications as interesting, it means a lot to me as you are one person I look up to right now. About Engagements and Audience, being sincere sometimes I feel left out, but then it motivates me to try better in the next one. I've come to learn that, I get what I give, so if I need engagement and an audience I need to dedicate myself to giving the same to others..

Ubongudofot
: A scroll through your library of blog posts shows an evolution in the quality of your various publication. How do you plan to continue to improve your content in the future?

🔶Sahmie: As I previously stated, my evolution is based on the motivation and lessons I get from what is happening and the people I look up to. I will keep pushing myself till I feel I've gotten the audience I deserve. I don't plan on stopping any time as we learn every day hence, I hope to keep improving..

Ubongudofot
: Will you say Nigerians are producing enough quality publications in the blog?

🔶Sahmie: I believe we are, as there are some Nigerians I always look forward to reading and learning from their publications and I will say they are doing very well. But it shouldn't stop there, as they can still get better.

Ubongudofot
: How did your structured upbringing impact you and your decision to take the path you chose in life?

🔶Sahmie:My life has never been a life of silver spoon, gold spoon, or bronze spoon. Sometimes, I feel like it's a wooden spoon but one thing is for sure, I'm most grateful to my family for their upbringing instilling certain non-negotiable values. They have always supported me all along the way and I know what to do and not to do. Fun fact; it was my Dad who first asked me to join Steemit.

Ubongudofot
: What do you hope to accomplish through your career?

🔶Sahmie: My aim has always been as simple as it gets, which is being in a position to be able to provide for the needs of me and my family comfortably..

Ubongudofot
: What will you do if you have 5,000,000 Steem power?

🔶Sahmie: Wow! This is huge. But I don't see anything changing from what I've always been doing. Maybe, I may pause from creating content and go into curating.

Ubongudofot
: which user will you like me to interview in my show and why?

🔶Sahmie: I think everyone I would love you to interview has already been interviewed by you, so I am currently blank on this question unless you would allow me to name them again.

Ubongudofot
: What do you like doing in your leisure?

🔶Sahmie: I spend most of my leisure time on Steemit, other than Steemit, I am also I fanatic for Scrabble games and a movie lover. I do play football too but not as frequently as the others.

Ubongudofot
: What's your kind of music, can you sing it or play it?

🔶Sahmie: I'm a lover of cool and reflective music, my favourite genres being pop, blues, country, CHH, and gospel. I'm in love with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Jacob Banks, NF, and Maverick City Music. Am good at singing along but to sing alone would only be in the bathroom, lol 😆

Ubongudofot
: Good choices! I play NF songs a lot, especially his track that is entitled: "When I grow up"

Ubongudofot
: What is your most embarrassing moment?

🔶Sahmie: My most embarrassing moment was 2 years ago, an unfortunate experience in the bank. I had to withdraw money for a trip on that same day, on getting to the bank I found out my ATM card has expired, so I was asked to use a withdrawal slip, on doing that, I was told I used the wrong signature, I kept trying over and over again the same issue. At the end of the day, I was asked to apply for a change of signature which would take 2-3 working days. I was not only left frustrated about missing the trip, but I also had to walk all the way home since there was no cash on me.

Ubongudofot
: What will you put into consideration if you were to handle the Steemcurator01 account for 12 hours and what will you frown on?

🔶Sahmie: Oh! This one is tough! It's likened to asking me what I will do if I become President of Steemit Republic for half a day. It's a lot of hours to achieve great things. In all, my consideration will be on originality, creativity, and content quality. I know it will be difficult as there is a multitude of people on Steemit with quality posts, but I will reach out to the ones I can..

Ubongudofot
: What is your biggest pet peeve?

🔶Sahmie: My biggest pet peeve includes Slurping loudly, People cutting in between lines, littering, and Loud noises. Among them, all Slurping loudly and littering annoys me the most.

Ubongudofot
: If you have the opportunity to visit any country in the world where would that be?

🔶Sahmie: If you had asked me this question a few months back, I would say Spain is my destination (Ibiza precisely) but right now, it is the United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 ( Dubai to be precise) that I'm headed.

Ubongudofot
: Do you have any messages for the Steemit team?

🔶Sahmie: My message for the Steemit team is a simple appreciation message, I would love to appreciate them for their leadership role on this platform, it is never easy to lead a multitude of people and come up with innovative ways to engage them. I will also like to appreciate them for their support towards me, indeed I've been lucky enough to taste it..

Ubongudofot
: What can you say about the Interview Showcase, do you think it is interesting and should be continued?

🔶Sahmie: Very very enjoyable and intriguing, look at me with smiles all over my face. It is indeed an amazing concept and I've not seen any dull moments. It is indeed worth the prestige and reputation given to it and I'm glad I was lucky enough to be here, thank you..

I must say, this discussion made me so excited, that I kept smiling like I was in for a close-up advertisement, lol 😆. My teeth were just shining like the sun.

I got to know we had so much in common as a person, even in our taste in music, in conclusion, it was a moment I enjoyed expressing myself. I hope I made @Ninapenda and @Ruthjoe proud.

It was indeed an honour I will never forget anytime soon, thank you so much for this opportunity, I'm very grateful.
