When I woke up this morning, I tried to reminisce on my last week's activities, and I think it’s worth sharing. I will also take this time to explain one special day in Nigeria and the activities that are done on that day. Don't worry, they are all videos, take time to enjoy them.

In Nigeria, the 27th of May every year is set aside to celebrate children to show how much they are appreciated, but for me, I show my appreciation to children every day, I don't have to wait for a particular day😁.

On the 27th of May 2023, many schools from each zone gathered children at their various cities' stadiums to perform some interesting entertaining activities. And the city of Uyo was not exceptional. I spared three hours of my day to check out what was happening there in my city stadium which is Uyo Township Stadium

Different schools around the city made up the audience, including members from the state education board, teachers, head teachers, parents/guardians and journalists.

Children match past at Uyo Township Stadium

It was a colourful day as children from various schools engage in the march-past, dancing activities and even music activities.

Children cultural dance at Uyo Township Stadium

Cultural dance was also done by children and It was so colourful. They are displaying African tradition through dance. One thing Nigeria is known for is dancing. Get close to Nigerian kids and they will teach you how to dance, trust me, you won't hate it.

At the end of the whole activities, each school were given its rewards, depending on their performance. But the most interesting part was that some pupils were also rewarded for their outstanding performance.

One activity actually caught my interest and that’s one of the reasons I want to share this piece. I should have done it a long time ago, but man’s life is filled up with many activities daily and I am not exceptional, but here we are….

One of my friend’s daughters made my day with her musical skills. She was so creative with those skills.

I was impressed to see that Nigerian schools have started teaching kids how to play musical instruments. In my days in musical class, we were only thought how to sing some matching songs, not how to play them.

We didn’t even have any musical instruments to learn in the school, not like we wouldn’t have liked to learn, but I can’t really figure out why it was so.

But today, a kid of 9 years can play the piano and violin perfectly to entertain the audience. Isn’t that amazing…?

Well, we can't be kids again for those who are no longer kids, but we can make life even more enjoyable through our daily activities, there is something always to be happy for in life, so make good use of it.

It's great to see schools coming together to showcase their talents and entertain the audience. Having representatives from the state education board, teachers, head teachers, parents/guardians, and journalists in attendance must have created a vibrant atmosphere and added to the excitement. It's events like these that bring communities together and celebrate the achievements of young students. I hope you enjoyed your time at the Uyo Township Stadium and witnessed some amazing performances.

I hope you enjoyed this beautiful time very much.

Some children are very good at what they do and giving them the opportunity will make then show you what their talents are. I am glad you had to enjoy their work.

Thank you for sharing
