My dear friend, @abdullahw2, as you mentioned, I like participating in this contest. If I am accurate, this is my first time participating in the Hot News Community. Anyway, my friend @dove11 requested me to participate in this contest, which I gladly accepted because I enjoy sharing information about my capital with the steemians on this platform.

When I say Sri Lanka has two capital cities, do you believe me? Sure, presently we have two capital cities. Our original capital is Colombo, however in 1982, Hon. J R Jayawardena, then President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, named Sri Jayawardenapura, Kotte as the legislative capital. Therefore, Colombo becomes the country's executive and judicial capital.
Today, in this contest I would like to talk about our original capital Colombo. Colombo is Sri Lanka's largest city and serves as an economic hub in addition to being our executive and judicial capital. Colorful busy streets, breathtaking sunsets along the city's western coast, historical attractions, colonial architecture, beaches, delicious food, and a variety of shopping malls all contribute to the city's immense attractiveness. Not only are numerous gleaming hotels, but also government and business buildings, colonial-era architectures, cathedrals, temples, and mosques scattered around the city, all bring gorgeous look to the city. As well South Asia's busiest ports provide life to the metropolis. Therefore, all of the aforementioned factors draw visitors to the city.
What are the top three must-visit attractions in Colombo City and why?
Colombo City has several fascinating top locations to visit. My top three favorite places to visit are the Gangaramaya Temple, the Independence Memorial Hall, and the National Museum of Colombo. Gangaramaya temple is the most well-known Buddhist temple in Colombo. It is breathtakingly gorgeous, with the Beira Lake on one side and statues and carvings along the road inside.
The National Museum of Colombo has more than 10,000 items, including historical and religious artifacts, royal elements, and local artifacts. Furthermore, it is the country's sole nature museum, which should be seen.

The Independence Square, which contains a memorial hall, ponds, and surrounding gardens, was built to commemorate Sri Lanka's historic independence from the British Empire in 1948. It's a lovely spot to relieve the tension that comes with our fast-paced lives.
Describe a local festival or cultural event in Colombo that captures the spirit and traditions of your Country.
Navam Perahara (procession), which is sponsored by Gangaramaya Temple once a year on Navam Poya day, has unique importance. It shows a diverse range of traditional Kandyan art. The holy Relic Casket, which carries the parade's lead elephant, is the highlight of the festivities. The Gangaramaya Temple and the Navam Perahera show the togetherness and harmony they nurture among communities. The significance of the procession is Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians all take part in the procession to showcase their cultural heritage. Dancers and drummers from the Central, South, Sabaragamuwa, North, and East regions come together to perform. As a result, it perfectly shows Colombo's spirit and traditions.

I may first invite my buddy @patjewell to visit my country's capital. I have noticed, from her blogs, that she had previously traveled to other countries. So, I am confident that if she had a chance to visit my country, she would come to Colombo to appreciate the beauty of my capital.

Yes, Colombo is densely packed with structures, therefore the government chose to relocate the majority of the buildings to Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, which has lots of rooms. That is why they establish Colombo as a judicial capital.
