I greet everyone who took part in this challenge most especially those in this noble community. This is a new steemit engagement challenge and I like to take this opportunity to write about what is going on in our country and it is real news and what is happening now in my country.

| TEACHER UNIONS MET GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS OVER COST OF LIVING ALLOWANCE |
In October 17, 2022 a letter was issued by the President of Ghana in a person of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and which was signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante who is the Secretary to the President of Ghana. And it was stating in the letter the government has terminated the appointment of the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Professor. Kwame Opoku-Amankwa. The dismissed Director-General of Ghana Education Service was been appointed by the government of Ghana in the year April 2017 and he then assumed office on May 15, 2017 and he was been appointed as an acting Director-General of Ghana Education. And according to the letter of the Secretary of President Ghana stated that, [The ministry of Education in Ghana exigencies that required your skills and expertise as Director-General of Ghana Education Service do not exist anymore].

Though it the government extended his contract and it was stated that in the letter, that was breach of law of the nation. And was then directed by the sitting President of our country to return to his office as a Dean of students in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Though this man was dismissed but he still held a number of others leadership positions, including the Dean and Vice Dean in the Department of Art and Head of the Department of Publishing studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

And since there was a dismissal of acting Director-General of Ghana Education, there is a need to appoint a new one to take in charge of pre-tertiary education. So the government of Ghana then appointed Dr. Eric Nkansah as a new acting Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES). But after the appointment the three teacher unions made up of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana said in a press conference on Friday 4th November, 2022, that Dr. Eric Nkansah is a banker and he doesn't have teaching background, and because of this reason the three teacher Unions came together and rejected his appointment. And the three teacher unions continue to say it's not acceptable for a banker or someone who used to work at bank to be appointed as Director-General of the Ghana Education Service though there are many educationist at the same time. Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service should come and apologize to teachers on field teaching for accepting someone who is not educationist. The strike action has already began and it then started from last week Friday.

I was under the impression that this kind of strike only happened in my country and not in any other. The crisis between Ukraine and Russia, in my opinion, is the primary reason for this inflation. Am I correct?
