Story story!
In the city of Awka, they lived a young man named Ken, he was a trader and was into the sales of house hold materials. Ken was from a humble home. He was the only one hustling to take care of his sick mother in the village and also training his only sister in school.

It wasn't easy at all for him bearing the financial burden of his family, coupled with the fact that business wasn't moving the way it should due to the economic meltdown, but he kept on struggling believing that they is light at the end of the tunnel. At a point, suitors starting coming to seek for his sister's hand in marriage but he refused, saying that marriage will be a distraction and she will get married when she graduates from school.

Things get worse for Ken when some of his goods got seized by the Custom officers and every effort he put in trying to get the goods back proved to no avail. He couldn't pay his sister's school fees, the sister wanted to quit school but he refused and said she must end up a graduate. Ken sold his only piece of land in order to be able to pay his sister's school fees. Some of his friends thought he was stupid.

Two years later, the sister graduated and finding a good job become a problem and she still depended on her brother for survival. Few years later, things turned around for them when his sister got a job with a multinational Company with a fat salary and lots of incentives. The sister gave him her first salary in appreciation for what he has done for her over the years and after a while, the sister expanded his shop. Truly there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Moral lessons from the story

  • Patience is key
In everything we do, we should always exercise patience.

  • Education is key
No matter the way the World is turning into, education is still the key capable of unlocking so many opportunities.

  • Sacrifice still pays
Ken's selflessness to the extent of sacrificing his only Land for his sister's education paid off at the end.

  • Hope is important
This story teaches the importance of keeping our hope alive despite the situation we find our selves in this life.
