My experience during the COVID-19 lockdown
Hello everyone,
It's your favorite Steemian @rakiya from Nigeria and I'm delighted to join in this contest organized by @saintkelvin17 in this noble community today. It's a wonderful contest and I love to share my participation in it.
Tell us how you survived hunger and boredom during the lockdown.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was home because it was a period of lockdown so there was no school then. In terms of hunger, I didn't feel it because my dad is working and he makes all the provision for food and all other necessities for the house.
He is a policeman and he was always working to ensure that law and order are maintained in the country so during the lockdown, he goes out and buys foodstuff while coming back. The only thing is that I don't get to go out because of the lockdown so in terms of boredom, I felt it.
I was always home 24/7 and at some point, I became so tired because there was absolutely nothing to do. I wake up and do the usual chores and then eat and sleep. It was indeed tiring and at that time I had no idea about any online ways of making money.
So what kept me busy was the skit I watch online every day and the television I watch aside from that the lockdown was like a prison and I don't pray for such again in my life.
Tell us 4 ways you prevented the COVID-19 virus.
In our house, we have running water in the front of the house and a sanitizer so anyone coming in from outside, including my dad, will have to wash his hands with the run-in water and the soap kept there and he must also wear his facemask before coming in.
Another means we use in preventing diseases is not going to public places where there is little or more population. We started doing house fellowship and we don't go to the church because the churches and the mosque are all locked as well this helps a lot.
Also, we try to ensure that the food we eat is well-prepared and if anyone feels ill, he is isolated until the doctor ascertains the type of illness and medication given before he or she can join the others.
These are methods adopted by my family and me to ensure we prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our homes.
Did any of your family members or close friends have contact with the virus?
With the preventive method taken into consideration, none of my family members was found with the illness. Also, none of my friends was found with the virus as well.
So the sickness, I didn't see anyone with it. I only saw some people on the television who were kept in isolation and after a while, they will say they have discharged them as they do not have the virus.
Ebola and COVID-19 which one was more frustrating?
COVID-19 is more frustrating if you ask me. If I remember the case of Ebola properly, there was no lockdown during that period because the medical petitioner said we should avoid bush meat at that time.
In the case of COVID-19, even a handshake as we heard can cause sickness, and for that reason, it became worse and also affected the entire world and not just a few places. So I felt it more during the COVID-19 than during the Ebola period.
I want to invite @pea07, @pandora2010, and @josepha to join the contest also.
