I greet you dear steeemians of this amazing community of @hotnews. We all love the company of pets; cats, dogs, birds, snakes, and lions. Here comes me, I am a lover of dogs. I have 2 dogs. one for security and the other for company. The one for security is a German Shepherd and the inside one is a Maltese. Today I will talk about the Maltese.

Dexter and me

Breed and name of my pet? describe this

It's a Maltese and it's called Dexter.
It's white, covered in fur with dolled-up little dark eyes. it's small and loves playing.
It's really sweet and loves being where people are. it never wants to stay alone.

It considers everyone as a friend. it's the only animal that doesn't have an enemy and has a heart only full of love.

I choose its name just because I felt the name is cool and so he would like it.
Also in my family, the "D" works for us so I didn't want his name to be too different from others.

we have to run like tom and jerry to bath

Dexter doesn't know that he was created white and so he should ensure to keep himself clean.
His so jumpy and like rolling on the ground hence he makes me bathe him 2 times a week. my kids always do the combing of his fur every time and he loves it.
I also cut his nails once a month because his so playful if I leave them, they can scratch my kids.

Walks are a must around the house to prevent it from gaining a lot of weight.

I immunized dexter when he was 2months old.
He is a lover of milk and soft bones among everything that we feed him.twice daily-morning and evening though he's not the one with such an appetite.

My knowledge about animal diseases that can be transmitted to humans and the steps taken on how to deal with them.

Rabies and brucellosis infections can be transmitted to humans.
Brucellosis it's caused by a bacteria infection that is got by eating raw food, dairy products, or other animals.
Can be transmitted to humans through inhaling and when they are in contact with the infected animal.
Rabies can be acquired by humans when bitten by an infected dog.

Rabies and brucellosis can be prevented by immunization of the animals.
Make sure the food is well cooked and clean.
Keeping animals away from the outside animals that you're not sure of their health.

In conclusion

A Maltese is a tremendous companion which is very easy to get along with because of the trust and affection that it has got.
But I have also had a hard time leaving it alone because it doesn't like loneliness.
It's also small so it has to be carefully taken care of.
Its white color and fur have given me so much work and hence it needs so much attention and care.
