Bara Katra

Bara Katra, a historical monument of the Mughal era, is located on the banks of the Buriganga River in Chawkbazar, Old Dhaka. In 1641 AD, the chief architect Mir Abul Kasem built this structure under the instructions of Shahzada Shah Suja, the son of Emperor Shahjahan. Abul Kasem was called 'Mir-e-Imarat' at that time.
