NATIONAL PROTEST IN NIGERIA "END BAD GOVERNANCE AND HUNGER"

Good day to everyone in this beautiful community hope all is well and fine in all your respective doings , I am so much happy today writing this update in this great community

INTRODUCTION

Nigeria a great country in Africa has been facing alot of challenges too as a developing country too .Due to some weak government officials not doing what they are meant to do and when they are supposed to do it there are too many setbacks in the country and also most of all inflation which brought about high cost of living, everything got too costly and citizens could barely afford it which finally after a long while brought about this protest taking place in the country today being the first of August till the 10th of August.

WHAT REALLY CAUSED THE CALL OF PROTEST

This started when all of a sudden the cost of food stuffs started skyrocketing from bad to worse. Already things were costly but it got more worse by the day, things got out of hand and higher number of people couldn't afford to feed them selfs and their families too. The inflation also affected high and prominent people as well including all the government workers which led to a strike so their would be an increment in the citizens minimum wages . At first the Nigerian government didn't allow the insisted that the privous minimum wage remains the same but things were too costly the government workers explained and also insisted that the minimum wage gets increased so they could afford to buy food too .
After a long dialogue, dragging and also bargains they accepted to increase the minimum wage from thirty three thousand naira (33,000) to seventy seven thousand naira (77,000). With the increment you could see how bad the economy is already.

Things didn't stop there , apart from the government workers the market traders who went along their daily business started complaining bitterly about the high cost of food and also the amount of hunger. The market traders and business women in the market said many things due to high cost they can't afford to purchase their market goods again. Truly the cost of feeding and inflation affected everyone in the country and I made all the states agree on a national protest .

HOW THE PROTEST IS GOING

Today being the first day of protest is very calm and everyone is at peace the protest is going on well and also it is a peaceful protest . All the militants are also on patrol making sure there is absolute peace in the environment and also nothing is being damaged as a result of conflict too. Tho the government haven't said anything concrete yet but they are on it making plans on how to better things as we are protesting too.
Not everyone is outside protesting,some people are also in their homes minding their business also but everyone kept to the instructions of lockdown. No shops are open and all markets are also locked up. In rivers state the protesters are at the airport not allowing any government officials in or out of the state but random citizens who boarded as flight are being charged an amount also .
Before today the government also arranged an anti protest campaign telling and begging the citizens to say no and also stay away from protest to as well, the brought representatives from each state of Nigeria holding up the banner in the name of the state clearly Witten urging and telling everyone to stay away from crime.

HOW THE GOVERNMENT ARE GOING ABOUT THE PROTEST

As everyone is outside protesting the government also have their hands on deck and also putting to work their plans on how to better the situation.
Some days ago the news headlines stated that the price of bags of rice is no slashed and brought down to forty thousand naira. This brought joy to the citizens but also the price wasn't changed yet in the market as well. Some other news also came about giving women who had children soyabean so they could feed their children with it .
Nothing much is done yet and citizens are still protesting too but we believe that the government would listen and also bring solutions for everyone in the country too.

CONCLUSION

NIGERIA IS A BLESSED COUNTRY AND SOMEDAY WOULD BECOME A BETTER AND RELAXING PLACE FOR ITS CITIZENS AND ALSO FULL OF PEACE.
